Been looking for a stream around there... looks as though the eye will pass over there.

I tend to trust the guys at the NHC, who say that it doesn't do that until weakening back to a tropical storm, and may not do so at all (ie, track forecast)

Loll  now he's saying something about higher ground over and over and over and over again. Great stream though, hope he's alright.

Might have lost Jeff if the power to the wi-fi towers have now gone out, been watching webcam after webcam all day shutting off as the electric is going out by the hour. TWC with their own satellite-feeds is the best bet for keeping up with 'on the ground' reports from now on.

Love the guy in Corpus on The Weather Channel.

Center is 45 miles from landfall at 8mph now so landfall around 6am our time as it stands however the eyewall should hit around 4am.

Hmm only just caught up and been made aware of Hurricane Harvey.. my first thought is how apt a name .. I ride a horse called Harvey. He is a dominant territorial big brute. Loves the rain too.

But he likes and is kind to people, so let's hope Hurricane Harvey, decides landfall isn't for him, and keeps people out of harms way.

Unfortunately in this instance huging the coast could be worst case senario, down to amount of rain fall. Not sure which would be better, taking a wind hit and storm weakening, or it stalling and dropping rain for days while the gulf keeps the huricane going. The latter is what's expected.

I love the irony of these chasers urging the public to evacuate, all the while they head in.......
