Storm Fionn named by the Irish met office from 15:00 today until 03:00 tomorrow

Fionn looks to effect Ireland later today with damaging gusts.

Downgraded even more on the 12oz no longer really a feature away from the channel and western coasts north wales southwards and south western Ireland and the south coast.. The downgrades do mean it's tracking further south so we may get a snow event instead if we get a further downgrade and correction south.

Hope it doesn't end up so far south that it doesn't even effect us here in the southwest.

Was looking forward too some more blustery fun windy weather after the relatively quiet bland period weave had.

Oops talking about the wrong storm but even tonight doesn't look particularly stormy away from the coast. Top gusts in the lower forties. Can't see why it has been named to be honest.

There's already 7 inches here and with more forecast overnight, it could be bad. Main roads not great.

Now the media are telling us Storm Fionn is going to batter the UK tonight it isn't Storm Fionn was a different low pressure to tonights
