Huge amounts of patience required unfortunately.

Hopefully next week will deliver for us snow starved SE/EA mob.

I think Sunday/Monday and Tuesday are the days to look out for now. That’s according to the gfs anyway so I could be completely wrong

Smashing day here, so nice to see the sun. Temps gone up to  2c. Still a frost in the shade. Lots of talk on a snow risk tonight, think thats not really going to happen, that weak system to the west will only produce light drizzle if it reaches us. Friends living not far from Dartmoor reported rain. We really do not need any more rain. Take care, time for a G and t.

I still think it's further north it's still in Wales not below it, and even going further up Wales a little now.

I agree, so is that an extra lump of the system that hasn't been accounted for? Lol. It's definitely right over South Wales, seems like the majority is all but in the channel though sadly.

If the Uppers are -7 or -8 we need a much slacker flow and showers to form pretty much overhead before they stream WSW into the London Area. If the Flow is stronger and showers form where they usually do around 35-50 miles off the coast the air will get mixed and we will see wintry showers. This one is not a done deal as ECM has been consistently showing since its runs 3 or 4 days ago (eg none have shown anything over wintry showers)

Guess what its gunna be on a knife edge lol

Just checked latest SST's off the East Anglian coast (Essex/Suffolk) - largely varying between 7-8c (slightly above normal) and ever so slowly dropping. Warmest waters are actually off the Dutch coast at a degree higher but even variation there so not as warm as led to believe...

If you look very carefully it’s starting to turn more east direction now which it was always meant to do but I’d say a little earlier than thought so coast areas watch out might get some rain

A lot high level cloud here, but some sunshine at times and it doesn’t feel that cold as the wind is very light.

Very unsure about the period where the wind veers east to north easterly. The margins are very tight between a lot of rain showers and something more palatable....

Good Morning

Still keeping 1 eye on the PPN

Anyway I think the confidence of heavy showers moving in from the East is high now from the 4th

Here are the 850s & Freezing levels.

Best case scenario is about -9c & 100M which in the current climate & how things have been is great.

Worst case is probably -6c & 300M

so still a day or 2 to firm up but getting interesting

I'm watching the main clump, but also those showers, some in the north of the region, might get something from those.
