Got up to -0.9 earlier and now it's back down to -1.7 even though it's brightened up.

Temps all over the place lol

Fog has finally lifted here a bit. It's been foggy all day since 1st December (and most of November). Given my experience from North Greece this kind of lengthy fog spells lead to snowy January conditions. Fingers crossed.

Yes indeed, it's been nice to see a bit of blue sky and the sun peeping out a little earlier.

Going slightly misty again now and now down to -2.2 ! Looking like a very cold night coming up?

Hopefully we will get some good snow over the coming weeks, this milder spell at the weekend looking like it's getting cut short which is nice to see 🤞❄️

No blue skies at all. It's cloudy. Just visibility up to 300m instead of 50m. Sunday is a tricky one. Possible snow to rain event or even a dry one? Especially the METO app can't even get the temps right. Started with 5-8, then it was 3-7, afterwards it was 2-5, now it is 3-6 and dry.

Oh that's a shame. Pic below of here now, it's totally clear above, misty over the field.

Yes not sure what make of Sunday. All about the angle of attack which seems to keep changing, so think we might see it keep altering for a few more days yet.

Similar in Barnsley.  Got to an overnight low of -1.4c with temps then rising to -0.3c around noon whilst still foggy, and then gradually falling away again once the fog started to clear. Now -0.9c with blue sky and sun and another cold night to come!

Looks like temps briefly rising as we progress through Sunday and into Monday and then falling away again by Tuesday.    Also, the wind is going to be picking up as well on Sunday and Monday so that should help shift the fog.

Interesting back edge snow chat in model thread for Tuesday, that would be fun, hopefully we'd keep it for a little bit. To far away though to have any confidence in that.

Yeah looking forward to blowing the fog away and getting the clear views back!

It's Baltic in Lincolnshire but has been sunny today. Low of nearly -6 last night, got up to -2 shortly after lunch but back to -4. All trees and hedges covered in rime. Really pretty but has just colder day by day for the last week. I thought yesterday was going to be coldest but apparently not.

A bitterly cold day at the coast. Temps below freezing all day with no thaw of the hoar frost which has built up over the last few days and now looks like snow. Even with a bit of sun it hasn't shifted,  this is the view from our back garden just before 3 this afternoon. Bike rides are curtailed, back roads are just too icy for two wheels, I have been doing a 7 mile circuit from the village sticking to the main roads. Actually not too bad today, some hazy sun and not much wind, a light W force 2-3, but -1C.

A second consecutive ice day here with a max temp of -0.9C after yesterday's max of -1.2C.

It's extremely rare to get one ice day here, never mind two.

Not a breath of wind all day either.

Another rare ice day at -0.6C, dipped -1.7C before mid afternoon rising back a little as cloud rolled in. Probably spring 2018 last time we had two consective days.

Lools like a non-starter early sunday. A lot may now not see any snow from this cold spell.

Typical really.

To be fair though in leeds last few years we have had a couple of exception snowfalls. Right in epicentre of battleground snowfalls. Last one we had about 10" in one morning/ afternoon.

I think places like Bridllington, filey, scarbrough could  get a covering tonight.

Next Monday and Tuesday potentially looking interesting for our region for battleground snow.

Yes please 🤩🌨️

What's everyone's thinking on the shower potential for tomorrow and Thursday inland? Looked ok at one point like we might all see snow showers but latest updates are saying coast only now I think?

Looks downgraded to me. They might come as far inland as Pickering but even that's a stretch.

Yup twas feb 2018 into March 2018 where we last had consecutive ice days.

Good threat of freezing rain for some Sunday morning so something to bare in mind if making plans to go somewhere.

Car was showing -4.5°c at Octon Roundabout at 19.30, so not quite as cold as last night round here...yet!

Good luck to all of you on coast with them showers. Apart from hardish frosts, this cold spell has been benign here.

It's pretty cold tonight already, down to -5.4C so far. Could be a notably cold night if it stays calm.
