We are just starting to see the flakes last a little longer on the paths instead of instant melting which should bode well later on.

I'm really not sure how much low lying areas will end up with. If it hangs around till 7/8am then 10-20cm in low lying areas is possible but equally could be a few cm.

I’m at 90m and will be surprised if we get more than a couple of cm on grassy surfaces, if that. Higher parts of Leeds will probably do okay though.

I'm similar to you and there's gonna be no problems if you get this what's here 👍

Heavy stuff has returned. Temperatures on the drop again. Turning into a classic snowfall.

I love it when PIT gets giddy 😍

Looking the radar animation I think we are starting to see the pivot begin over Ireland.  The precip is still moving north east across England but there are hints in the circled area of some slight east south east movement.  A good sign because it means everything to the west is eventually heading for us! 😁

I think we’ll see continued north east movement of the precip over England for a good few hours yet, but the pivot point will start to become more obvious:as the evening progresses.

Observations suggest the system is currently just south west of Ireland, so that would be about right. It should move to just off Wales by 9pm moving directly east through the night, being over SE England by 6am (as per xcweather).

Someone asking about radar, if you take a look at Wunderground you can set it to move beyond now for some hours to see the projected path.  It's a bit clunky but useful.

By the way, the West Yorkshire Railway isn't just for watching trains, it's got some good webcams as well.

As you can see at the moment there's a big difference between Keighley station and up in Haworth.

Yep, you are very close to me.  I’m down in Redbrook just off Ripley Grove.

The wife has just taken the dog out for a walk!  Perfect timing! 🤣

If that prediction is anywhere near accurate, we are going to get buried! 😬

If that comes off lf I wouldn't be surprised to see 50cm+ in the highest parts it must be easy 20cm deep at Hallowes Golf course in Dronfield just been out walking it was shin deep and that's  around 200m ASL.

Pretty "meh" here in NW Leeds. Daughter sent home from school at 11am yet pavements and roads were clear and still are.

What a utter fiasco today has been in Sheffield, schools shut, parents scrabbling about trying rearrange things. And what happens?.....nothing. First schools were shut at 7am!!!, what for!!! There are head teachers in this city that should be  holding their heads in shame. I've done London and back, 2 calls in the capital and still only 8hrs work. These highly paid head teachers really need to get in touch with reality, a lot of parents have lost a lot of money due to the actions of a few.
