A reasonable intensity to the snow here for the past 30 mins or so. Settling on favourable surfaces such as grass etc. If the snow had been this heavy 3 hours ago or so, it would have been settling on road and pavements with no trouble. I agree with the post above, looks like front has stalled and is pivoting now.

Wow ! Certainly doesn't follow the radar

It's bizarre, I wasn't expecting it to be as persistent and heavy. We seem to be in a weird spot where the radar says something is falling from the sky, but nothing is. And vice certainly as per today, not much on the radar but keeps coming.

Meto looks nice too.

The radar says it should be snowing but it’s bone dry here in S Cheshire if we could get a small covering from the heavier stuff weakening over Stoke and or the area of snow further west that would be great as it’ll stick around.

Went for another Wirral drive, was thumping down in Birkenhead/Bromborough and sticking well. Back home a lot lighter and wet, glad I dragged the Mrs for that drive as it's eased the snow craving somewhat lol. We are now upto 2/10.

Started again in Heswall now.. weirdly it was melting fast but the new stuff is laying well. That means it's definitely in the edge.. around 0C

Yeah looks like a bit more on the way soon before dying off.

Out and about. Local Tundra of the Inskip Marsh.

Fresh and at least the Runnel water levels have dropped from last week

Waiting  in anticipation of the incoming front and  all its blizzard potential. Lol.

I've never seen snow fall so gracefully. We really are hard done to on the coast aren't we?

Liking the look of the medium term outlook, could be some battleground snow events coming up, that's normally our best setup here.

Heavy here again. Still that cotton wool powder type. If it can stay with us into the afternoon after maximum solar input it should stick better as temperatures start to drop again.

remind me a bit of fifth January 2010 constant moderate snow all day small flakes but only deposit 2 inches because it was so small flakes

Very odd, snow has stopped here for the past 20 mins or so, despite being right in the middle of the band of ppn.

Dont think it's down to flake size in terms of amounts lying, probably more down to intensity and temperature of the ground and air. You can have huge flakes but if they are too wet or the ground not cold enough, it wont accumulate.
