I wonder if staff numbers are much lower because of covid? Certainly around here now gritting tends to be reactionary rather than perceptive

Snow slowly increasing in intensity here, but still very light. @CreweCold looks like you are under some reasonable radar returns, you must be seeing something falling now?

Heavy snow here in Gwernaffield and nicely topping up the 12cms from yesterday. According to the radar, it was snowing for much longer than it actually has been. The returns on the radar are misleading. Perhaps the front of the precip is more a virga affair.

Still -4c just put some recycling in bin and took an effort to open as frozen solid... black ice on patio and snow still 1-2cm with trees and grass covered and rock solid... darker cloud slowly moving up from sw...

Just spoken to a friend in Llangoed in Anglesey and he says they’ve only had a dusting.

Just noticed a few tiny flakes falling here

First few flakes falling here. Every flake is sticking which is nice to see for a change. -1.0°C.

Apart from  3 runs yesterday WRF has been adamant it would reach this far north so I’m happy with that.

May be light, but every flake is settling.

Thanks. Wasn't expecting you to be seeing anything heavy, but thought you must at least be seeing snow falling.

Just as I say that about the WRF I notice it’s not showing the precip reaching me on its latest run yet the Met app now is.

Come on you’re letting me down there.

Might just scrape a few snizzle grains this far north east before it pivots away.  Yesterday was pretty impressive with some decent falls, the only negative it was all a bit wet looking so didn't take much traffic to reduce it to slush.  Lost count of the number of snow falling days since mid December, more to come hopefully.

Slightly larger flakes here now and a further increase in intensity. Very still outside.
