So near and so far again this frontal feature moving through Wales and Irish Sea, takes a look at Cumbria and decides no thanks! Where is the snow over N Ireland expected to go, just turn in on itself.

Many many a time fronts seem to make it N Wales and W Midlands but no further.

The front from the north later today looks a damp squib.

This morning its cloudier than expected due to the influence of the front. At least it's clear views and a decent walk calls, fells look resplendent white coats.

New week, snow boundary through Scotland, might see some Tuesday briefly, greater chance end of the week as fronts struggle to break through the cold to our north. Need things to nudge slightly south and finally we might have a good cover.

The question is do you need to be ‘warned’. Very rarely do you need to be warned unless the weather is extreme.

Yesterday needed a warning here. It would have at least possibly prevented a number of accidents in this area in the snowy roads. I am surprised their matrix didn’t show it. Whereas today thei matrix has shown it with no snow falling yet buttbeitu admittedly colder temps.

I doubt that warning is necessary if the roads have been thoroughly gritted. At most places within the warning area will likely see a dusting this far north in the region ...

In the warning zone here, but remain sceptical as to amounts. That said, the front is still making progress and knocking on the door now, so we'll see.

Looks more than a dusting for some!

I'm not expecting much although in fairness I didn't expect the front to reach us. Is the front further north or is it just larger than anticipated? It looks to be a bit ahead of schedule?

Not this far up it doesn't. The precipitation is quite patchy. Even that big blob over north Wales barely left a dusting there.

Hopefully I'll be wrong!

1cm would be a win to be honest. I think I'm south Wales there has been about 1-3cm widely. Looks good down there.

Some models did have it this far North yesterday, which the radar would seem to indicate were correct. If we manage to squeeze a cm out of this it would be a result.

I know this isn’t a ‘slider’ but amazing these systems and the 2/3 sliders in the last 8 years pivot just underneath Lancashire.

Nothing falling here as of yet

It is so so light, had to look hard to see it, but definitely tiny bits falling every now and then. Knocking on the door of Crewe as well so you should see something soon.

Going by traffic cams it doesn't look like the bothered to grit the roads down south.
