Looks like that shower will hit just north of Hartlepool then maybe drift over to Bishop that's assuming it doesn't just dissipate as soon as it hits land.

It's absolutely plastered Hartlepool the paths and roads are well covered at sea level I suspect the roads will be very tricky upto the A19.

Good stuff. Glad someone in the NE is seeing something from this cold weather.

If it was 15 miles further south Stockton and darlo could have been involved

The winds look all wrong for it to reach here. Either radar is wrong or snow hates us 😂

That main band hammering Aberdeenshire has definitely sank south in last hour. Will prob disappear when it hits England

Must have been a beefy shower. That's a decent covering

That’s all we want, something like that to last a week and look festive.

every shower looks like passing here you couldn’t write it lol!

We will end up getting the snow when it turns to mush straight after.

Yep and there's another one following in behind!

A few flakes just starting in Newcastle now, the showers seem to be pepping up as they come inland

Once these current showers are finished the radar doesn't look to good though. Or am I looking at the wrong radar?

Look at that gap opening up at spennymoor as it heads towards bishop/crook.  Typical!  Rather it would have missed altogether than do that!

Looks like hopefully a decent sized shower is about to hit darlo by about 6.20- 6.30. If it does first snow of winter. If anyone is awake in darlo could they confirm this as I'm currently in Stockton at work and won't be back home until about 8 am.

Looks like it might miss darlo. There's a one heading into Chester le street now. I'm currently at work in Durham and there's a covering here

Looks like you are right mate I think it's going to hit Newton aycliffe just to the north of darlo....damn it (again). All I want is a couple of centimetres to make things look festive. A bit of snow and freezing fog is my fav type of weather. Makes everything look white.

Snowing lightly in Washington this morning. What a nice little surprise to wake up to about cm of snow considering how dry it's been here! Looking at the radar it looks promising for a few areas of our region so time to open my blinds, get the heating on and whack the PS5 on and enjoy. Either way it's baltic out there with a hard frost- very festive 👌 ✨️

There's a dusting of snow in Newcastle this morning as well.

There's more significant activity in the North Sea pushing south so I think we could see some heavier showers as the day goes on. That matches with the precipitation charts yesterday showing the heaviest showers around the middle of today. There's some slightly milder air mixed in with the band that sat over Scotland yesterday so I just hope it doesn't turn to sleet later if the heavier stuff hits us.
