If the Met Office don't escalate it, then the Police don't do things like close the snow gates on the A66, hundreds of folks then get themselves stuck on Stainmore Common in a blizzard, and everyone shouts in the tabloids "Why weren't we told?!"

Yes and agree for higher routes but don't think warnings were required for the coast , hardly ever are down here to be fair !

Snowing here but nowhere near as much as the radar is suggesting

It’s getting quite heavy here only a matter of time before it lays imo. .

Yes if this keeps up it will. Fingers crossed but it’s the first snow of winter for me.

*just as it was getting good it stopped.

Really is starting to look promising for the early hours for our region. Colder air should undercut the precip just a case of how much is still about

It's been snowing in Trimdon for the last 2 to 3 hours.

Showery rather than persistent here in Ryton at the moment, small flakes mixed intensity but all lying. Looks promising for overnight and I have the pleasure of running a team of lorry drivers on a 23 hour Nightshift starting 7pm. I will be able to watch the whole thing play out overnight, happy days!

bone dry here, we had dusting overnight which has mostly gone now....it's been an odd day watching the radar, just sunderland has been under clear radar all day, but areas all around the city have had some kind of ppn.....some micro-climate strangness no doubt !

Same here. Few flakes since 1pm although it appears to be snowing now

Still got some light snow here but is quite windy now which is making it feel bitter.

Been light snow all day but not enough to top up the overnight ground cover which has been thawing. Heavier stuff looks to be on it's way & 850s defo holding out from the Northerly flow.

Interesting evening ahead I suspect.

Edit, good timing as just pepping up now it's got dark
