Funny that... gritters are like hens' teeth up our street but we've had a 3 axle job and the pavement gritter AND council guys on foot chucking stuff out the grit bins on bad bits.  We're being spoilt.  Perhaps someone's realised gritting is cheaper than dozens of broken legs in A&E.

Possibly. The backroads round the village were gritted at the weekend and they don’t normally get done either.

Now sleet here. Those inland and with elevation could do well again as this pushes east.

Warning out for Thursday/Friday..... Above 200m.... I'm interested!

I'm even in that wee thin band that the warning actually covers

how do you get xc to show the amount of rain or snow

If you're on a phone it shows more info if you rotate the screen.

It's a fantasy app though and only worth checking for giggles!

To be fair to the XC weather site, I'll do a wee accuracy test for Thursday based on that prediction..... So I'm going to have 12.9cm by noon on Thursday.... I'll measure it and come back

Just passed Cumbernauld airport and trying hard to snaw. Elevation key I think as rain at home.

Edit: Actually snaw now

Started as heavy rain last night went to heavy snow (which settled a bit) before turning back to rain. So far today started as heavy rain and now back to sleet

At 0.1C it's only now just edged back above zero for the first time since around 12:15am this morning. MetO forecast now showing me getting snow or sleet starting about 17:00, and lasting until after midnight but I'm still not convinced.

It couldn't continue it just feels weird seeing your snow pics.... Its too much to deal with on top of covid

@MAXcrazystormI think there is a chance as prcip peps up to be decent snow for at least a while and thu looks to have potential.

Looks like latest UKV has killed a lot of the forecasted precip for later on today. NEXT!
