Slightly bizarre that it's still showing 3.4c here and I'm only about 5 miles away! You can keep your sleet though

Can see the temp difference on the radar though with the sleet and snow echoes south of the Pentlands and rain here!

It’s back up to 2.5c now For the record it’s my car temperature not a thermometer so not exactly accurate so you’ll probably be closer to the mark

Well despite the cold nature of the winter thus far, it's been a huge disappointment for snow enthusiasts on low ground in the North East - it looks like that is finally going to change later next week - some agreement now for some proper cold and snow for all levels. I'm no expert but it seems we really needs those -10c upper 850 to guarantee snow - we should have that in place by Friday next week......

Fingers crossed!

A rather dreich non descript day today..., much rather have the cold dry weather we had earlier in the month and just before xmas.   Snow is a rarity here.. i am happy with  some very cold days and nights with frost a permanent feature

1.8c now. Could get icy later! Which I guess would explain the ice warning

1.0c/0.1c.

Radar (current) looks a bit streamer(ish) to me- no?

Not doing much for Fife at the moment but Edinburgh looks more enviable.   Perhaps things may pep up a bit later.

Not sure if they can be referred  to as streamers if they aren't moving along the river though?

I should know the answer to this by now!

The afternoon turned out very useable after all with plenty sunshine and light winds.

Temperature max of 2.3c with most of the snow melting, the slush that was left now freezing quickly (already down to -1c).

Surrounding hills very white so the snow level must have been around 200m level.

Nice sunset as well.

Bennachie looks like its had quite a covering of snow the last few days.

The last pic looking towards Bennachie, is that taken from near the Sir Arthur Grant Centre?

From 3.4c at midnight, the temperature dropped to 1.2c at 10am before climbing back up to 3.4c just before 2pm, coinciding with the sun breaking through on Deeside. Temperature started dropping away as the sun started to set and is now down to -0.9c. Netweather's own 16 day forecast is showing snow for Banchory next week, I live in hope.

(While I love the cold weather, my numb hand is not coping well with feeling cold all the time, I really hope the nerves finish repairing themselves before the even colder weather arrives.)

The road is white here!?  Not sure when that fell...

Yeah there's the odd isolated shower in north Aberdeenshire so you must've got lucky - for once!

Just back from a walk - wouldn't be surprised if any showers reaching here were on the wintry side too

It's taken from near Cluny, phone has a pretty good zoom function

See its all doom and gloom again on the model threads here and on the other site.  A lot of them really need to volunteer for the British Antarctic Survey for their sanity.

Yeah. Wet snow / sleet at the minute. Pretty vile in all honesty. A shame. If the conditions were right these showers would have left a right good covering by now.

Edit: Massive 50p sized flakes now! Proper snow blowing about!

Decent snow shower! ❄️

We might catch a few coming in off the sea tonight.

Always nice lamp post watching. If we do catch anymore (one at least incoming) I suspect we'll have to imagine it settling

Edit: Marginal! Just lashing sleet again!

Looks like its snowing in Aberdour on the camera! @Blitzen

Difficult to tell what that is on that shot but there is a pink blob clipping Aberdour, Burntisland, Kinghorn area on the radar.   Streams in the North Sea kinda look like they are lessening now though.

Charts do look good towards Friday next week but that is an awfully long distance away for any confidence! (yet)
