Make the most of the cold weather over the next few days especially if we get some snow on Friday. I think it may be a little while before we stand much chance of getting back in the game once the milder air arrives early next week. Hope I’m wrong.

All down to good old radar watch again!!!to see it falling shall be good i guess!!

Actually looks better than I expected some lucky spots could see between 3 to 9 hours of snow. But it changes every run so like you said good old radar watch is best.

2 hours of light snow this morning from around 8.45, temps were just below freezing.  No accumulation, the very thin icy layer it created vanished quite quickly.

Now down to -1.3C (dew -2.2C) and falling.  A cold evening out there, my car was frozen coming back to it at 5pm after being there around 4 hours.

regardless of what it shows  i always rate the Hirlam as the best short range model.

It shows a band of snow Friday  perhaps more intense than other show.

Nice to see the development that my 'kink' had for-seen on Monday evening!!

Not there yet, but looking more likely.

Temperatures falling like a stone at -2,2C at 18:00, after reaching the dizzy heights of 3.4C at about 15:00.

Looking as though I could record an ice day.

Looks like the coldest night of the year so far here.

Yes certainly cold out there now, crystal clear skies and the stars look great  I’ve got to give full marks to the GFS vs all the other models that have only just picked up on this potential snowfall for Friday, the GFS was showing this last weekend and stuck to its guns 10/10 GFS....but how much we will see as always is the million $ Q

Temp charts look like a cliff face, had high of about 5c around 3 o'clock'ish', down to -1.5c (dp -2c) now and dropping fast.

ECM finally gives in and shows the snow risk, and so the BBC finally show it too. Laughable.

Sheikhy...

The post above by  Mattstoke shows that ECM 12z is showing between 1 and 10cms widely across the Midlands!!

It actually states it in the explanation underneath .....

MIA

The BBC forecast at 18;30 was quite bland....but went on to say that there was a risk of snowfall across Wales and most of the Midlands.

I suspect that they had not been updated with the latest charts in time for the 'show'..
