It certainly looks at the moment that those in east anglia are not getting anything like forecast. Wait for any streamers.

but I would say so far a far weaker event than expected

The front is wayyy to far East. The cold took too long to set in which I would put down to it also being further north so we had rain for longer.

Overall not impressed. Considering the MO had heavy snow signals from 3am to basically Tuesday. Still got the convection but its going to hit or miss but I am in a prime spot so if its a hit then its a good hit.

It's matching the Arpege quite well in terms of extent. All the energy is focusing on on E.Kent, they could well get a few Cms if cold enough over the next few hours.

The good news is the Arpege does break out showers so I think there is still some stuff to look forward to...

But...

I just don't see the instability for anything other than fairly light stuff. A good example maybe what's near Cambridge at the moment. Maybe heavier by the Estuary not drastically so.

Latest Arpege shows Snow for all of Kent in the coming hours apart from here where it stays as rain until atleast 10am/11am! But it does make more of the streamers Monday and Tuesday morning than this mornings affair and at times the snow pushes further westwards 2100101738_Screenshot_20210207-033348_SamsungInternet.thumb.jpg.e658641e82726e335561a5b5477eb79e.jpginto London tomorrow

Just thought I would pop in from the NE England thread to say it's been a big bust up here so far as well.

It's snowing in Hastings

2 miles away in St Leonards on Sea and it's just a barely visible drizzle.

Yes people need to watch the next wave 10am onwards. Still the event overall will be weaker than modelled due to incorrect timing.

There will be plenty of convection around for prime spots, especially by tomorrow evening, fully expect to have a Kent streamer in play by then.

This event has a whiff of the Feb 05 fail thus far with regards to the front if anyone who has been around long enough remembers!

Edit - should still be fine for Kent, SE Essex and Suffolk though, watch for a pulse between 6-8am.

Look at the met office radar, it is more extensive than netweather for example.  The precipitation is matching the general warning area.   Admittedly the decriptive forecast updated does make it sound like snowmaggedon more than the radar looks atm.

It is early days though.  Judge the outcome at 9pm Monday evening not 3am Sunday morning!

Its 3.45am... I am awake cause the wind woke me. I am gonna get so much stick when it gets light. I like hundreds of peeps in here promised her little girl blinking snow. There is at this moment sweet fa on the radar. Potential only saving grace is the cricket is on in a minute.

Looks like the temps and dewpoints have started to flatline also - predictably just the wrong side of marginal.

Although lower upper temps should push them down eventually.

Just a little thing to watch for those in coastal Suffolk and Essex, notice the area of stronger precio in the north sea?

That should pivot into your location in a rough WNW heading as the LP continues to pivot the band around to a more N-S orientation as it starts to pull eastwards.
