There's clearly so little shear to help sustain updrafts, returns on radar 'mush out' as quickly as they go out. Life cycle of showers is about 30mins.

That's the spirit! They do seem a bit boom and bust, or pulse-type showers at the moment - as was mentioned in the forecast from Convective Weather. Hopefully we'll something though

Looking NE from Salcombe is great, couple of anvils on the horizon. The one near Axminster maybe? Pity I can't upload my photo.

Had 4 or 5 and they are loud for me here as the lightning map Pro is pinging them by Itchen Valley Country Park near me

So after many hours sitting on my backside waiting for this weather to clear up, it finally went above the minima for our departure and eventually return.  We have no official instrument approaches at Stapleford.

So we departed above the layer and no real issues, was in and out of Cu/St. Completed the Instrument Approach into Lydd, and this thing was shooting up right at the hold for the missed approach.  So did a weather avoiding turn and tracked around it.  Awe inspiring the power of them as I was getting lift behind its path. Definitely wouldn't have enjoyed flying through it...

Off to HIIT class soon and I can see what looks anvils spreading up from the S/SE and what looks like the outline of Cu trying to build over London.

In fact seems as if I might be under a Cu trying to build
