It's been a pretty frustrating March cold spell overall. Certainly some of our more snow-prone friends up north have done pretty well but in terms of a widespread, significant lowland snowfall it hasn't delivered despite the models looking very promising at multiple points in time (well-highlighted by @Kirkcaldy Weather).

Yep, very frustrating winter in terms of snowfall. Some really cold periods especially during December, but only dustings of snow here. We now have sleet which is on the verge of turning to snow now..

Been a really raw afternoon, 2.5c when the rain first set in. Now up to 3.5c and grim.

Whilst the milder weather is welcome, the rain isn’t. 40mm since Sunday and plenty more to come

We’re that bit higher here, with sleet and temp +1.8.  Going pretty much as forecast with snow and temps below +1 at places like Eskdalemuir and RAF Spadeadam.  Many private sites like Lanark reporting temps around +1 so it’s an elevation critical event.  Temps rising well further west, so short lived whatever.

Precipitation has arrived - met office forecast snow, reality rain and a temperature of 2c.

As noted above, roll on spring and nice convective cloudscapes.

Wintry mix (not a fan of that description) for the past couple of hours. Has turned more to wet snow over the past hour and starting to stick. Currently 0.5°C/0°C.

Most we got was a few flakes mixed in with the rain. As I've said before if you are in a warning area for something expect the opposite unless it's for rain!

Only way to describe today is honking!! Absolutely honking!!! Chucking it down with rain, cold miserable day. Looks like we might get some dry weather over next few days.

Heat hit me as I walked out of work eatlier, 12C in Westhill at 4pm. No use when you have a jumper and winter jacket on. Currently a sunny 10.4C at home. Not surprisingly virtually all the lying snow has gone, just thin remnants along field boundary walls etc.

Well  a very mild day....ready for spring now. Has been a very poor winter for snow over  much of the country out with the Highlands n North East.  Just seems impossible to get lying snow around these parts. So roll on spring n summer and those days of 25c temperatures.

This is my snow patch. Could contain: Path, Sidewalk, Grass, Plant, Walkway, Flagstone, Lawn
Said 10 deg when I took dog out but wind made it colder.
