Despite the above, it was roasting this afternoon whilst I was working on trimming the bushes. Topped out at 23.2C. Had a look for the aurora before going to bed last night but saw nothing obvious. We have a poor view to the north though due to the hill behind the house.

As above, absolutely glorious today. I nipped down to Edinburgh first thing to collect a motorbike for my dad and enjoyed riding it back up in the sunshine. Not sure on the accuracy but the bike trip computer was showing 27 degrees as we came around the Aberdeen bypass before easing off to 25 by the time we got home.

Fabulous day for haymaking in September  strong SW wind blowing  rows of hay about maximum of 22c and unbroken sunshine in the afternoon.  If this week stays dry we  will have caught up with the summer jobs. Harvest and hay together, a bit exhausting.

Combining mostly done on the Yorkshire Wolds odd patch of spring barley to gather up NL, bale leading keeping the lads busy, muck spreading underway, Min-till starting to become a choice for some tho?

A good dy week should  see most of cereals finished in this area. Some early sown winter rape emerging well. Just one major local estate mini tiling now for many decades totally reliant on Roundup to control weeds nearly every month of the year. Majority in this area with our glacial soils winter plough to allow frost weathering if it happens and control   weeds. Fascinating to see wheat ripe before spring  barley. Hot June suited it. Spring barley very short for same reason with little straw.

Roasty Toasty out there, currently 24.2c and climbing.

Very little wind today so feeling a lot warmer than yesterday (and yesterday was nothing to complain about at all).

Lovely deep blue shade to the sky as well - noticed the house martins are flocking in large numbers round here, sign of a imminent move south? 🤔

Another lovely September day and warmer, 25c at Leuchars (27c at Aberdeen and Aboyne). August is forgotten. 😀

It will turn cooler here after tomorrow with the risk of haar as the wind shifts.

A high of 27.2C here today and the local farmers are in full on harvest frenzy unsurprisingly.

Change in wind direction today to the ESE (and quite fresh at that) leading to a very noticeable effect on temperature, currently 20.5c compared to the 24c this time yesterday.

Still wonderful out there though thanks to be unbroken sunshine, more of the same please.

The diurnal range yesterday afternoon to this morning very notable - we had a max of 27.6c around 4pm yesterday and a overnight low of 4.0c.

Yes same here, some 7c cooler (18c v 25c) than yesterday afternoon due to the North Sea Aircon. Still a pleasant early Autumn day but the wind is noticeable!

☺️ Really appreciate this! 😁

Yeah it's a lot of hard graft I put into it but still thoroughly great fun. Though it's still relatively soon for turning the majority of my thoughts to the winter setup the similar scenarios with 2009>2010 & 2010 November & December to name but a few of our classic snow machine seasons

Blocking most probable throughout Siberia + Greenland, Ninò style jet and associated elongation of Atlantic troughing

A touch cooler here today with a max of 22C. Just signs of haar just before dark with cloud visible out to sea and wisps blowing up the river as the wind freshened and backed to the East. Still mostly clear to the West tho.
