Normal service has been resumed after the weekend deluge. Dry with sunny intervals, mild with the temperature currently 14c in Ellon. Hints of colder conditions over the weekend 👍

Very pleasant day after a miserable weekend. Almost flat calm all day and surprisingly warm in the sunshine.

Was hanging some deer gates today, dug the posts in by hand, 4ft into thick sticky clay, glad I managed to borrow a post chapper for the main fence as my shoulders are already feeling it!

Bloody awful day here, horrible wind & rain. Can I ask a stupid question here --- how or where do I find out what direction the wind is from? Down here it's hard to tell as it gusts around between the houses and the tall trees at the back. I don't see wind forecasts on bbc or netweather radar, just rain.

If you select wind or gusts on this map, it'll show the arrows for direction 🙂

A strong SW wind - but a very mild one, currently 16c and feeling warm especially when the sun breaks through.

Baking hot in Paris, just roasting. Keep seeing my son on the ring doorbell setting off with the dog wrapped up in raincoats and jumpers.

Going to be quite mild and wet leading into winter according to the predictions. Just accept it now and it won’t feel so bad when it happens.

Lots of sunshine but feeling cold out of the sunshine thanks to a strong and gusty WNW wind.

Currently 11c so a good 5c cooler than yesterday.

Good day for cutting the grass, still needing cutting every fortnight which goes to show how mild it has been.

Yes first time that I have seen anything wintry mentioned this season. Met office outlook for weekend for here has wintry showers on hills

"Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Turning colder but staying mainly dry with sunny spells. The odd shower will feed in from the northwest, wintry on hills.. Fresh west or northwesterly winds but easing on Sunday.

Updated: 17:00 (UTC+1) on Wed 11 Oct 2023"

Here today it has been bright and breezy with just a bit of chill in the westerly wind. 11C currently.

Some of the washed away bales and straw/hay caught by the trees and fence in the polar Avenue in the upper Tay valley. Farmers will not be very happy in the aftermath of the floods. Still water under that lot in what is a field usually of short grass.

Had just seen the above posts photos. Have to say a much fresher day with a maximum of 11c mostly broken cloud with fresh to strong NW wind making it feel colder.

Noticeably colder this morning, 2.5c on the car display at the house. Colder again on the approach to Westhill. The roads are bone dry so no issue with ice.
