Strange market indeed.. the house we are currently in was empty for 12 months and not a sniff of an offer, hence why it came to us to rent it.. right place right time i guess.. new house's seem to be going up at an alarming rate with deals a plenty to get folk in the door so to see them being left emtpy is very odd.

Anyways weather related stuff.. there seems to be a band of sleet/snaw working its way down from the North/North West... and we do have weather warnings for snaw and ice spread over 3 days from this afternoon so could be some fun and games...

The postage stamp sized gardens make them a big miss for us, along with the fact that the council will not adopt new estates - so estate service charges are a real issue (and a scandal in the making as we have a friend in a new build estate run by a management company and they've increased charges 30% this year - apparently changing the company is virtually impossible).  New build quality is another issue round here but this is turning into property spotlight NE so better stop there!

Kids are crossing fingers for a winter closure of the school - interestingly the school sent out to all parents their adverse weather policy yesterday.

A mixture of sleet and snow so far. The hills are taking a fair hammering at present. Snowline has dropped since early afternoon.

I think the snow up north is nailded.  I always get a job in the North East when we get proper weather.. Storm Arwen, Banchory.. Storm Babet, Blacklunans.. tomorrow I'm in Portsoy....

Just heavy rain and dark ominous clouds here - does look like a more wintry mix falling over towards the Corrennie hills/Tillyfourie.  Temp down to 2.5c.

Definitely more flakes now here.. big flakes too... if i could see Bennachie i would think it would be white..

The AWPR drive is a great experience for appreciating the differences in weather just a wee bit inland and at higher level.  Rain in Balmedie but just a few miles inland ( Dyce ) was dinging down with quite large (albeit wet ) flames of snow.

Evening all from what was a snowy Aberdeen Airport. Now down in Ardoe and very dreich and cold

Colder air definitely digging in now. Edinburgh airport dropped 5c in an hour between 3 and 4pm to sit at 0c.

@Kirkcaldy Weather you're not expecting accumulating snow at the coast? My hunch is inland and with a bit of elevation (~100m or so) would be realistic?

Always good fun these convective streamer flows eh  I believe there will be snow laying even at sea levels looks like 2 pushes of heavier banding at play here.. As the initial cold pooling swings in with the 528 dam this probably connecting to a trough resulting in a band with heavier snowfall rates p hour moves southwest with streamer alignment Fife and potential even toward central parts 

Also another streamer as mentioned starts in the moray firth toward Inverness

Bit of a blizzard around Tillyfourie on my drive home around 4:45pm, just about lying as a sleety mess on the road. Road outside my house is similar, with a wet covering on the grass in the garden. 

Snowed in Westhill too during the afternoon, but no hint of it lying, despite over 900 pupils willing it to in the hope of an early finish (not even close). 

Now is the point we really enter the freezer around here according to most forecasts, with any snow being a bonus.
