On the search for a new house round here and the demand for decent family homes with a proper sized garden is very strong - a bit surprising considering the start of layoffs and the cost of mortgages (though estate agents was commenting that a lot of recent sales have been in cash to people outwith the area).  Accordingly the "kite flying" by some sellers is amazing - one house we viewed is already under offer after just two weeks, the price is 40% higher than what the owner paid just 5 years ago and they have done nothing to the property!  Meanwhile new build estates are not selling at all.

Anyway, getting back to the weather, very acceptable day so far with plenty of sunshine.  Thermometer is reading 3.5c but actually doesn't feel that cold outside for some reason, even with a fresh NW wind blowing.

Strange market indeed.. the house we are currently in was empty for 12 months and not a sniff of an offer, hence why it came to us to rent it.. right place right time i guess.. new house's seem to be going up at an alarming rate with deals a plenty to get folk in the door so to see them being left emtpy is very odd.

Anyways weather related stuff.. there seems to be a band of sleet/snaw working its way down from the North/North West... and we do have weather warnings for snaw and ice spread over 3 days from this afternoon so could be some fun and games...

Stunning day with wall to wall sunshine. The Met are going with something quite different 🤔

The postage stamp sized gardens make them a big miss for us, along with the fact that the council will not adopt new estates - so estate service charges are a real issue (and a scandal in the making as we have a friend in a new build estate run by a management company and they've increased charges 30% this year - apparently changing the company is virtually impossible).  New build quality is another issue round here but this is turning into property spotlight NE so better stop there!

Kids are crossing fingers for a winter closure of the school - interestingly the school sent out to all parents their adverse weather policy yesterday.

Just heavy rain and dark ominous clouds here - does look like a more wintry mix falling over towards the Corrennie hills/Tillyfourie.  Temp down to 2.5c.

The AWPR drive is a great experience for appreciating the differences in weather just a wee bit inland and at higher level.  Rain in Balmedie but just a few miles inland ( Dyce ) was dinging down with quite large (albeit wet ) flames of snow.

Colder air definitely digging in now. Edinburgh airport dropped 5c in an hour between 3 and 4pm to sit at 0c.

Showers starting to show up on radar... nothing dramatic but hopefully just the start of things..

Tap o' cairgorm.

EDIT, that's funny, the screen cap added the music playing on Amazon music on my PC, which was an Irish jig served up by autoplay on the celtic theme. But fits the scene well!
