I don't remember a winter as mild as the one the UK is currently experiencing.  Today was only the second frost of the year and it's the 9th of December.

Fabulous photos. Makes you wonder we will never see the likes of again in Blighty ? From a snow fans point of view , I was lucky to have in my time back home to have been around to see the great snows of 63, and to a lesser extent 69 and 79.

Incredibly in the January of 2019, 3 metrs of snow fell in 48hours in our region of Salzburgerland. Locals  , had not seen anything like that since 78/79. Recent winters have produced some notable falls of snow, all dispite  a rise in winter temperatures in these parts !

It snowed in the south and in London on Sunday. This caused excitement but also disruption to airports, buses and trains with people stranded overnight in the snow. Was a Yellow warning enough?

Yesterday brought ‘snow grains’ . Yes, it’s still snow but equivalent to drizzle rather than big raindrops, when the precipitation is in a solid/frozen form. It’s still so cold that the tiny grains have remained overnight. The skies clouded over and this sprinkling occurred, looks a bit like dandruff.
