Just going over the radar, a weak patch of ppn is heading east, maybe if it says intact Brum south may see some snow in a hour or so Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Worcester area? It could fizzle out but just thought i would mention it.

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Atlas, Diagram, White Board

Looking into Sunday morning, note a weak squall line on UKV

-3.8°C here now and i have had a problem with the blow off valve on my heating boiler! Pressure has gone to high the blow off valve activated but the pipe for the outlet has froze solid, meaning if i had left it on one of the joints would have failed, the gauge was on the stopper + 9bar.  So thats a help for the gas bill. Glad i have a couple of cheap electric heaters; blanket and  Cat that likes to snuggle up!

(In time of typing that ppn has become weaker)

-2.8°C + 1° in the past hour or so due to clouding up.

Cloud starting to spread in and temperatures rising.   I think that's the "big freeze" over.   After 2 nights of double digit minima, I may not even record a frost here tomorrow 😮

Another near miss on the ice day front: max 0.2 °C today after a min of -6.4 °C. That's my lowest max of the spell, so given today was the last chance I'm a little irritated not to get a single ice day out of it. Still, it's been an interesting few days. Not often you have a bare covering of snow falling on Sunday and still have it lying in shadier areas the following Friday!

Local Parkruns have been called off at the last minute. Rain/sleet is creating an ice glaze on top of several days worth of frost, last Sunday’s snow (in Longton) and the fresh dusting this morning.

Sorry to see rain falling on the frozen surfaces around the region.

Take care.

Here dry with variable cloud and the temperature has moved above freezing.(+1.1C) after a low of -3.2C at 18:00 and then rising to -0.9C and then forming a new low at 07:00 of -1.6C.

All I suspect caused by the cloud moving through.

Still a frozen wonderland out there, though I think it will start to give now.

The small snow covering from Tuesday is still here.

Lets hope for some more white stuff  tonight. I think it will need more of a south easterly element to achieve some.

MIA
