But a covering of rime back in december was great..

Band of snow showers moving through now stopped..

I have measured areas not melted by sun and it is 3.2 cm or 32mm of snow 

 

surprise and more we got here in December 

let’s hope feb and March have deeper and deeper falls ❄️❄️❄️❄️

The snow is hanging on remarkably well despite the higher temperatures. Still loads outside my office in one of the warmest parts of Stoke.

Because the air is dry so low dew points which keeps surface moisture cold. It would've melted fast under cloud cover due to higher humidity & dewpoints which encourages diabatic warming & increases surface moisture temps.

Surface wind been west today W/NW..

It’s heading for Brum, but my temps at 7pm …2.8c and dp 0.3c so sleet at best 🫣
