That band is still over us here, I hope there's not to much problems with flooding around.

Looking at the animated radar, it looks like there are already showers in the channel under the rain band, moving in a slightly different direction, you can see they were already there, as the bandoves east. Just quite an interesting observation to me anyway. Obviously the two different bit of weather are at different levels.

Beautiful sunny morning. Sunshine after rain is my favourite.

I just don't get it.  This kind of weather keeps making the news, but it's just typical British weather.  Rain half the day, a couple of gusts of wind (literally nothing of note) and suddenly it's all because of global warming 🥱

Its apparently got nothing to do with the continuing expansion of births worldwide, continuing building of housing and expansion of cities on green land without consideration of drainage.  Not forgetting the lazy stupid prats that prefer fake grass to lawnmowing a few months in the summer.

I appreciate there is more to global warming issues than the above,  but surely to God, the main issue is not tackling the expanding reproduction of humans on a planet that simply cannot cope.

Agree with you 100%.

Heavy rain here again, just in time for the school run, yet again!

Decaying showers moving east have just arrived in Suffolk to give a few drops of rain after a dry day. The clouds made for a lovely sky just now:

Wonder what that lot in the channel moving NE will do.

Netwx storm forecast suggests that "later this evening across eastern English Channel and far SE of England – with organisation of heavy showers and possibly thunderstorms bringing a risk of localised flash-flooding."

Hmm

Just hammered it down for 2 minutes, really big convective drops, was expecting a rumble of thunder but never happened.

Just come back from a quick walk and there is a huge, beautiful CB to my west-ish direction giving sporadic lightning but too distant for audible thunder. The only thing I can see on radar is over London. If that is the same cell.. those cloud tops are HUGE

After two nights of being stuck under occasionally thundery fronts/troughs, with heavy rain, finally a nice dry clear chilly evening, more please

Up to 20.9c briefly here today after a low of 9c overnight. Nice all round as not too warm but felt pleasant in the sunshine this afternoon

Took some moon photos. a few stills taken from 4k bursts as well, hands were a bit shaky though. They won't look as good on phones unless opened up or something.
