Hello all! I am drunk and just got home from my Christmas works party. I have no idea how cold it is apart from brrrrrrr.

Another bone chiller out there after another ice day.

Incredible to think it’ll be double figures by late Sunday / Monday. At least we know dense cold air is in fact very easy to shift. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another very cold night! Had to walk about this morning as dropped my van at the garage for work - pavements are lethal now! I live on a road that’s the main walk to school for a lot of children, compacted ice everywhere! It still looks amazing here with little snow melt, but a little respite just for safety would be nice now! But with a return to cold/snow over Christmas period….

Was 1.2c at midnight
Low of -2.6c at 7am
Now, -1c, blue sky and bright sunshine.

Ready now for the welcome warmer weekend and next week. Shame it has to bring some rain.
Glad that cold spell bought us a few snow showers at times and probably more frost days (even if for us some were quite slight) than we had all last winter.

Only 5 or 6 days away from the winter solstice, that has gone really quickly.

Just reached 5°C here for the first time in over a week. Still a bit of ice in the shade though.

I was looking at this earlier. Naturally it doesn't get a mention on the model threads (a potential Scandinavian High in January is the talk of the town) but it looks increasingly likely that flooding will be the disruptive weather of choice in the lead up to christmas. Just right for the school holidays.
