As does AROME

The surface winds near us also seem a little more interesting, with Westerlies around Bristol and Easterlies not too far away (Fairford).

Kicking off in the Brecon Beacons now.

I can also see convective cloud forming to the northeast of here.

And a 20 degree dew point in Fairford with sunny conditions and ambient temp of 25 degrees. That's a ripe environment.

Claps of thunder and a few spots of rain. Very dark heavy clouds to my North, likely Thornbury area getting it large at mo?

Yes, just opened the windows on the top floor and heard permanent rolls of thunder. Nice to see a cell in its early stages of development.

This is the bad boy.

I'm working in Olveston just north of Bristol and a cracking storm has broken out now. Torrential rain, frequent lightning and some of the loudest claps of thunder I've ever heard. The house just literally shook!

Passed through here; must've caught its edge; brightening up again.

Yep. It is monsoon-like rain now.

You must be in Bristol as Glos town centre is bone dry (at the moment)

Frequent thunder over Salisbury Plain for the last 5 minutes. The cell isn’t going to affect Warminster just wondering if it might spawn more.

Could here the thunder while at work in Bristol.

Back home in Weston-super-Mare, and nowt.

Suspect that's my fill of storm action.

I'm struggling to even call it a storm (imby).

Textbook CB to the NW, several rumbles towards Frome. Hope the photo comes out ok because the sun is in the same direction!

This has spawned a daughter cell in an identical position but unfortunately not so photogenic due to low level inflow cloud. More thunder in the last 10/15 minutes.
