A beautiful storm here earlier. And now constant thunder to the SE.Not a single rumble of thunder up until last weekend then 4 storms in a week.Could be more to come looking at the radar.

Must’ve had like 4 storms today. Admittedly they were quite weak and I didn’t see any bolts, just flashes, but quite a lot of thunder.

I didn`t see or hear anything and checking Blitzy for where the strikes occurred, the closest strike was this side of Chelmsley Wood to the East ....which the camera was pointing during the torrential rain... will check footage later🤔

there was a bolt in wychbold earlier...probably striking the masts.

We’ve just been getting some much rain from like multiple downpours in a row, roads are flooding. Now we’ve got another storm coming from the north.

Watching the storm band coming toward swindon

It's flashing away on a regular basis of every ten to twenty seconds. Should be a good show once it hits!

I could see the huge anvil from Warminster while driving. Got home and low cloud just developing over our side of Salisbury Plain is now blocking my view. Hope it holds lightning activity until after dark.

On a bit of a downer tonight. The week started so well on Sunday, had to head up north on Monday and missed what looked like a perfect rinse repeat (which still actually physically hurts to think about) but I’ve not seen such a massive downgrade since then. 4 days of storms wiped out. We got some flashes weds night but they were distant. This can’t be the end of it, you can’t promise so much, deliver so little and expect it to be ok 😩

Edit: don’t know what’s happened below I just want to type a fkn message and everything is being an aaaaassss

I've just been looking at the chances for next week, and you can see the High to the NW squishing away the plume more and more by the model run currently. It's usually the case that the HP wins out in such scenarios, but I won't lose hope of some imported storms on Tuesday until it's a certainty not to happen!

What a week, feel a bit sad to see it go. Easily the most active week of the year and has done something to recover what has been a poor season.

I witnessed 5 thundery episodes in 5 days.

Monday 5th early am - Northamptonshire

Monday 5th evening- Worcestershire

Wednesday afternoon- Derbyshire

Thursday afternoon- South/East Yorkshire

Friday afternoon - At home in Belper

A lot more storms today than I expected. I wasn't chasing but luckily one came to me.

I have lots of footage to edit, may take a while.

Fingers crossed for next week, although today's runs have generally downgraded the risk. Still a while away though so things can change.
