Rapid thaw on in North Wales if its any consolation. Just walked up to the Great Orme summit, good covering and a good few inches in places. For now!

I think 0°C iso has gone further north now. Mix of rain and ice pellets now. Needs to stop going any further north.

@Chris.R I’ve just had a delivery to Dutton. A good few miles from the Mersey and still snowflakes even there. I think we are literally just inside of the 0C iso

It's definitely nearby. Wouldn't think there would be this much rain in it though unless it's melting close to the ground.

For a front that’s meant to give large accumulations it looks very weak on the radar, even if it stalls unless of course it’s meant to intensify.

I think we can ignore any large depths now even for the hills

Above 300 m around here I suspect there's already 10cm. The main concern was always after the pivot from late this afternoon - there may be a solid 12 hours plus of moderate to heavy snow, particularly in upslope regions through to Friday morning.

Could be a non event but not sure we're even getting started yet.

Altitude is helping locally. Nothing here at 200m but get up at 250m and definitely at 300m there is a covering of snow. Just been over Ashworth Moor and nowt exciting considering the potential. All seems to have have gone much further north. Maybe we'll all get something as the front moves back through.

I wonder if James Madden correctly predicted snow today!!!!

The funny thing is he predicted this way before models started showing it imo. I hate him 🤣

As soon as you notice the wind pick up and become strong, thats when this event has just started. The low tracked further north and advanced faster, this afternoon onwards and early hours Friday has everything to play for 🙂

Ghost.

Wind continuing to increase here. moderate blowing snow again.

nothing here

Prob for best. I imagine you’re way south of the 0C isotherm now. Have to wait until later when it digs back south
