After a wet and windy night for Ireland and the UK, with ongoing gales and even some snow, it is Meteo France who have finally named the low Storm Noa,

More wild weather for SW England, S. Wales, Channel Islands & south coast of England today.

Will we ever see Storm Antoni? Storm naming seems to have fallen out of favour over the UK but there will be a wet and windy midweek with gales and high gusts. Meteo France has just named the low Noa.

XC weather latest reports 67 mph at the tip of Southern Ireland. An hour ago, 70 mph was recorded. Wonder if this storm is being downplayed a little?

Guess we'll find out, it's in its deepening faze so probably difficult to get one hundred percent correct either way.

Carries on at plus 80 or higher warnings will likely be updated. Was probably associated with the heavy frontal rain, bring winds from the jet down.

How windy it is goin to be in Cornwall?

The SW/S yellow Met Office wind warning has been split into two parts now and the furtherest west portion says "Gusts of 70 to 75 mph are possible along parts of the north coast of Devon and Cornwall, as well as exposed headlands elsewhere"

Pembrey Sands has seen 70mph gusts recorded at 8 and 9am

Not quite sure what the matrix is showing us for a forecast on the actual day. Medium impacts, still not that likely?

Holidaying near Padstow at the moment.

Can confirm some severe gusts associated with passing convective activity.

Blue sky's at times and beautiful cloudscape.

Looking like afternoon for the strongest gusts according to the met office around 70mph.

The Met Office warning system is a mess. I get two wind warning notifications and it took me a while to work out what they were doing. How can they make it so unintuitive?

Since they 'upgraded' their forecast maps and info I've found everything less intuitive.

Snow sleet / wet snow across the higher ground of Wales earlier, mainly at above 300m.

Likely just rain as it moves east through England, maybe some hail mixed in.

Just had a gust of 51mph here. Could've been higher, as my Dasvis anemometer isn't in great shape.

Prawle Point G85mph at 1043Z

Treknow Gull Rock nr Tintagel G84mph at 1050Z

Battening down the hatches here in the Channel Islands with the strongest winds expected between 2 and 5pm. Stay safe everyone ...

Not sure I believe that. The same bouy also reported a wave height of 134.5ft

A rogue wave perhaps? Unlikely though but still, Noa appears to be packing a bit more of a punch than anticipated. Worth keeping an eye on.

As I mentioned in my regional thread; A bit of an anticlimax here. Gusts of low 40's, with one random 51mph gust. It's calmed down quite a lot since.

Been very windy here in South Wales, squall line passed through about an hour ago and it was one of the worst I can remember.

Calm-ish now. Sun out.

Your in the center of the low soon, and was north of it.
