I got lucky this morning, with the only gap in the clouds being in the right place to catch the bottom of some faint NLC`s

taken around 04.00 with them being to the NNE at around 8°.

Southerly meridional velocity kicked in around 5 pm so the chance of something forming although I'm doubtful of anything here

The forecast for this evening/ morning is for some gapage in the clouds, in parts of the UK, gives a chance  for one more session in the much fabled Salon.

With a very angry Sun in recent times, and the lack of anything from NOAA-21.

I`m not sure there will be anything left to see😂 .. apart from lower altitude clouds which are closer to the pole

The only thing i have got to go on is the constant displays over the UK, at this point of the 5 day rotation,
is this evening.

Fingers crossed that OSWIN will start to show again soon, which would give me more of a hope

It seems like the Nasa scientist who comprises the NOAA-21 plots .. has been abducted by a Tic- Tac 🤣

🍻🤞

as far as im concerned, its over... a very frustrating/disappointing season... over the next couple of weeks we will be treated to displays over the far north/scandinavia on the forums... but i blinked and this season has passed... all too quickly..

From the north coast of Aberdeenshire last night.

I think down here the season is coming to an end, and especially with the weather, little chance of any more sightings.

A notable season here for all the wrong reasons. I didn't see anything at all, not even once! I'm sure they might have been about at some point, but the cloud overnight was relentless.

True darkness returned on 1st August and we're gaining 10 minutes of it a night now, so I think that's it for another year.

At least next year can't be any worse!

A report of NLCs from Norfolk this morning.

Several reports of Aurora last night too, but didn't pick it up.

Saw a bright orange meteor at 01.20 this morning near the plough heading SW. Most likely an early Persied.

Not sure about this morning tbh, if its Simons its very dubious... you have to look so hard to try to see anything..
