Well the bottom right corner is a plane that I was swearing at, then the sky flickered and the trail just lit up in front of me. Checked the camera and I had caught it!

That looks like a plane light trail, as it has multiple flash points in a straight line.

Why is this? I thought the atmosphere was ripe?

oh well, the perils of the south coast 😅

I’m not sure, it wasn’t producing much lightning but now it’s trying to produce some more now, though rain still hasn’t arrived here yet which i thought it would do by now

Ohh, sorry, I thought it was being shown as a lightning bolt lol

I was gonna say, no way you'll get one as straight as that!

Meteor, most definitely..

Ooh, interesting! I can see occasional flashes coming through the curtains, assuming all from the cell to the SE. If something has developed to the west of that, then that'd be a pleasant surprise

Well, I'm detecting that lightning from that cell to my SE. I haven't seen anything from here yet.

I'm not 100 percent but it's definitely in a different location to the one I'm seeing over by the Isle of Wight. I have a couple of bolts from that one.

I can see what you mean tho… there are a lot of places about. It was actually p’ing me off at one point.

rare to see such bright ones, I’ve only seen two so bright before. Just a lucky moment. Storm is dead now though, so maybe that was my fault 😬

I'd say there's a storm that may track over the Eastern part of IOW / Selsey , maybe next 45 mins. Not much lightning though.

Does anybody know if the storm over Wrexham is electrically active? Don't know if its worth trying to photograph some distant lightning shots....

It was seeing it from here but all has gone quiet over the past 10 mins, around 3am the 'proper' stuff was due to have initiated from what the models were suggesting. Still a easterly inflow from where I am nr the Cat and Fiddle.

Heavy convective rain here!. occasional deep cracks of thunder heard
