Area of strong CAPE has moved north compared to earlier, for what it’s worth…

It was awfully humid in Buckinghamshire today. Both my daughter and I found it difficult to breath but temp was only 25C.

Desperately want rain of some sort but seems to be just turning milky/grey.

What is it with these comments about humidity. Nothing exceptional in the reading few points 15-16C in most places.

I'm probably going to stay local today for the main reason that I think I may actually be in a pretty favourable area.

Yeah kinda agree with that - especially remembering the mid 90’s! It is higher than last year in the heatwave admittedly, but not exceptional.

Not really looking great for the South Midlands.

Until you've been to west Africa (or similar) during their wet season, you don't know what true humidity even is! Once you've experienced that, you realise even the 'humid' days here are child's play.

Kuala Lumpur - humidity 1billion%, daily storm at 4pm, humidity reduced by two percentage points for about an hour.....

Tuesday looks like seeing more storms breaking out.. in the same places as today. 🤢

And indeed since the Summer started.

At least I witnessed distant lightning last night for the first time this year...yet to hear thunder though.

Yeah, similar experience in The Gambia. The storms brought very little relief!

Cities like Houston and New Orleans are really bad too. Houston in particular has an average high of 35C in August combined with 75% average humidity & 123mm average rainfall.

what is the area of interest for the supposed MCS this evening? There is quite a wide area of isolated popcorn cells at the moment, none of them particularly strong though

A line of storms around the high cape area (central areas around Milton Keynes) heavy rain in the south pushing north should turn thundery in central areas this evening

First rumble of thunder heard, but everything going east or west so far, still time but doesnt to have looked to have exploded as well as I had thought it was going to, especially after looking at all the forecasting.
