Sun's come out here and it's still bl00dy ripe/hot out there.

Still nothing here. We are in the 60% severe warning area. That usually means it's gunna be a glorious sunny day. Can't see that changing with everything to the north and east of us as I predicted yesterday after having everything yesterday to the south and west.

I did consider chasing up to Oxford, but to be honest it’s just a bit of thunder and lightning and possible tornado. Big deal

The smaller cell, south of the Aylesbury one, wasn't all that. About 3 rumbles and no visible lightning. Too much clag to see any structure either

I’m actually quite cagey about elevated storms that occur before teatime, if the light is bright enough you’ll see structure but struggle to catch anything electrical. Recalling a storm near Alton a few years back where there was one constant rumble for about 2 hours and I saw absolutely no lightning at all. Was an experience but not worth the time, fuel and effort really.

mind you that day was the day I was in the vicinity of a positive strike which actually set the floor on fire - so that was cool 😃

Currently attempting to get ahead of Coventry cell, will try to meet it somewhere north of Nuneaton. Hopefully it picks up in activity, to the north skies are clearing.20230910_135530.thumb.jpg.37273071fffdd70ea902560e66d0d8a3.jpg20230910_135340.thumb.jpg.2215fe47f76426d3497907edf2709aa7.jpg

Best of luck, you might get wet with that torrential drizzle 🤣

Currently two storms stand out. One over the North Pennines and one moving directly over Milton Keynes.

I've now moved a little further north and just outside Doncaster with a few spots of rain coming from high cloud, and feeling muggy.

Fingers crossed on the MK storm. It is starting to look very dark the the south west of Peterborough now.

I'm feeling the urge to drive down the A1 towards that MK cell as it moves north. But my experience has taught me it will probably fizzle out just as I get there whilst a supercell erupts in my original target area of York.

Incoming for @Zak M in Bedford; one of the storm capitals of the UK in recent years!

It’s going to do one of two things , intensify or become a swirling mess of patchy rain which I think will happen. But best of luck….👍😊

I'm currently near Doncaster so I'd never make it on time unfortunately

Must be heading your way, it’s just passing over us in Biggleswade.  No rain yet, but wind suddenly picked up and a few rumbles of thunder now
