Looks like a mini version of storm Ciaran. Southerly tracking jetstream continues.

Already is from what I've seen so tomorrows rainfall really isn't what's needed. Only good thing is it's the last of the rain for a while so things might have a chance to dry out a bit afterwards.

So many threads going on in this sub-forum, I had no idea where to post..

I can see why the yellow warning exists down here..

I've recorded 476mm in Autumn, and 215mm so far this winter. Already on 36mm for January.

I think it's going to be close I did look on the charts earlier and it may come inland a bit.

Jersey Met NIGHT  "Southwest to west strong F7 to gale F8 , perhaps briefly severe gale F9 at first with gusts to 60mph, veering west to northwest strong F6, decreasing moderate F4 to fresh F5."

Cyclonic winds in the English Channel this evening, reaching Kent before midnight.

More heavy rain from same low over southern England and East Anglia adding to the existing flooding problems.  Rain moves from SW England this morning to The Wash/Norfolk late evening.

Pressure dropping at 2.6 hPa/hr.

I think a flash amber warning should've been issued down here. There's been an accident on the Upton bypass. Flooding on the roads is crazy.

This evening's weather in the SE just shows the professionals still can't a handle on this sort of set up.

Imagine if the air had been much colder and this was all snow.

Major flooding on the roads here as convective heavy rainfall is causing chaos, all trains cancelled.

Wind now gusting wildly into the 40mph + zone.

Lots of flooding on the way back from Southampton just now. Not seen it like that for a long time.
