Yeah it’s been pretty incredible from here. Everyone is up the back roads for a look. My camera is terrible but I’ll get some of my wife’s posted up tomorrow.

Best since 2005.

What time is it peaking in the central belt? I can't see anything, not helped by light pollution but I've seen a fair few clear pics from built up areas and still nothing here...

Ross90 honestly, I could barely see them for most of the time and they weren't in the area I was looking🤣Camera picks them up way better, long exposure or borrow a different phone/camera if there's another in the house and try that.

Great fun this evening with Aurora Storm in Edinburgh and myself in the countryside on our phones watching this fabulous display

Ross90 we're in Falkirk, to the naked eye they just looked like a pale pink and white glow but when you take a photo the colours come out.

Most times that I have seen the aurora they have been on the Northern horizon or generally looking North but tonight they were overhead and in a line to the East and West and then eventually right across the sky to the South. Some reports coming in that a stronger peak is due shortly but will be too late for me.

So frustrating, lot of cloud has rolled in just as the aurora goes into overdrive.  Can glimpse strong red in the few small gaps in the cloud shield over to the west.

Oh well, mustn't grumble last few hours have been exceptional.

Bummer, I was just too tired last night to try to stay up to try to see it. 😪

Thank you, I was lucky enough that I had my Canon 6D and tripod with me last night. Getting the extra long exposure really helps with the quality. I was amazed how well I could see it with the naked eye. Hopefully tonight is the same? Not sure how they forecast them.

Good photos everyone. Not surprised re Prestwick, it was 22c while I was coming back up the M77 at about 10:30am this morning!

Really nice morning, the heat is sparking off some strong convection here so wouldn't be surprised to see some showers break out shortly. I see the Met have given us a storm warning for tomorrow although UKV doesn't look as good for here. Haven't checked other models but it's been showing since early in the week.

Last night was amazing. The video was from around 11pm last night when the colours were most visible to the naked eye - like a rainbow. Later I went for a drive with a better camera and got some nice shots near Mugdock.

Well I might have missed the show last night but I'm enjoying the show today ie bright sunshine and a gentle breeze. High of 23.2C so far at the nearest wunderground.com station, currently a degree or so below that. Other stations in and around Alford widely reading anything between 23C and 26C.
