Lovely sunny start to the day, best it's going to get looking at the rain radar.

9c with a steady SW breeze.

Beautiful day here, warm sunshine a pleasant breeze.. what more could we ask for??

First day in 7 months that the heating hasn't been on at all and the house is sitting at 17.5c still..

Lovely day, if a bit breezy, good to finally get a day with double digit temperatures!

Car reporting 15c, felt like that in the warm sunshine - that hazy during the day with more general cloud moving in this evening...

Calm, fog galore and some outbreaks of light rain.  Double digit temperature though, who hoo 🤨... (10c).

The sun is out at times and it feels warm and a bit muggy at times for the first time this year really 🤩

Lovely day in the extreme West near Portpatrick. Northern Ireland is clearly visible. Cooler than further inland, about 15c.

Back home tomorrow but ironically the far West looks like breaching 20c. These next 8-10 weeks are my favourite for summery weather.

Plagued by east coast haar all day, except for 15 mins around 11.30 am and 30 mins around 4.30pm. Is it my imagination or has the east coast haar been reaching further inland for the last few years? According to the forecast I'm gonna be getting easterlies until next Tuesday... sigh...

Northernlights  Stayed clear most of the day here with just a bit of  cloud moving in from the North Sea this evening giving a nice sunset. Max of just under 18C so feeling much warmer than of late.

The temps seem very aligned with the months this year, top temp in April was 16c then the first two days of May both reach 18c. The warmest day of March was also the last day of the month here.

Gorgeous day with unbroken sunshine until late afternoon when some patchy cloud arrived from the east, thick enough for a few spots of rain this evening.

Max of 16c, mainly light winds.

No sign of those harbingers of summer yet, aka Swifts/House Martins/Swallows.  For here at least, definitely showing up later than last year.

Cloudier today I suppose a very slight chance of a storm later maybe but unlikely. Nice drying breeze too

Gorgeous day, much better than forecast. Even now the met office has us at 17c and cloudy, it’s very sunny and 20.1c. First 20c of the year!

Yesterday was close, I know the official station at Threave gardens made it 20.2c, but too much of a keen breeze pegging back temps.

Today is a totally different feel, >70% humidity. Feels like summer.

Warmest day of the year so far here yesterday at 18.6C. Today looking as though it may yet exceed that, albeit a bit more cloud around this afternoon. Further signs of summer: first swallows sighted locally on 27th April and first martins yesterday. Still awaiting the welcome screeching of the returning swifts, but they are usually a wee bit later (mid-May).

It has been a long run of rather poor and very wet months since the heatwave of mid-May to mid-June last year, so this turnaround is very welcome. A less settled blip over the weekend and the first part of next week and then it looks like settling down again into next weekend and turning a bit toastier, too - at last!

Ocnl thunder here past hour.  Not many rumbles, but quite loud.  Still dry, with any rain missing us to the north.

Official stations suggest around 23.5 several NW highland locations, but Achfary only reports daily, so nothing certain known until tomorrow.

UK highest this year?
