Flakes of snow in a heavy shower about 7am this morning. Now just very windy and frequently wet, looking forward to the incoming drier weather

Been stuck in a weather rut since New Year !  Wet, cool, mild, very mild . A lot of strong winds and bucket loads of rain... Haven't managed a cold beer sat out in the sun since last summer or had  more than 2 days of dry weather. May is quickly approaching.. and May s a month that normally delivers some fine and settled weather. Having said that have booked 11 nights in Zante  for the last part of May !!

A forecast-defyingly decent couple of days here.  Dry until late afternoon yesterday, then rain overnight.  Brilliant spring sunshine for much of today, with any light showers pm quickly passing by and not even wetting ground.  Grass now up to date and ground prepared for sowing/planting this week.  Now light winds and pleasant sunshine.  As they say, showers are mainly down to luck.

After a showery start (some of the showers we're still punchy) actually been fairly decent this afternoon wind direction's changed so blowing the showers west or east. Not clear blue skies or warm by any stretch of the imagination but not bad

Managed to finish sowing this morning before an afternoon of strong winds and heavy rain and hail showers. Hope the promised high appears this week as it is just like a midwinters evening here with a northerly wind howling down the chimney . Currently 8c after an afternoon of mostly 6c due to all the hail showers.

Northernlights agreed. The northerly wind here feels as cold as anything midwinter would produce. The high is desperately needed.

A very nice day in Ayrshire today.....plenty of sun sadly without the warmth tho.  Looks dry but grey tomorrow.. but usable weather for dog walking.

A cool breeze today despite the max getting up to >12C. A couple of hail/soft hail showers in late afternoon. Sky partly clear now at 5C.

Anyone seeing any aurora yet?

Sunny morning, mainly cloudy afternoon ending with some very beefy hail showers around teatime - remains still evident on the lawn 2 hours later.

That fact emphasising that its not warm out there, max today of 7c and currently 1.9c with a bone-chilling steady NW wind.

Quite a wintery looking sky this evening, got to love being able to walk the dog at 9pm in some semblance of daylight.

Aurora active this evening, will see if skies are clear later to allow you to actually see anything.

-1.3 was the low last night. Is April the new winter?

Well it was 2C here around the time when I opened the curtains this morning to the sight of wet snow falling. Made a good attempt to snow for the next hour or so, which is more than it did for most of the traditional winter period. Much nicer later in the day, almost pleasant despite the temp maxing out at 7.7C

I know where I'd like to be for the next week to ten days and that's as far west as possible, a week of cold north northeast winds and top temps of 10c along the east coast with low cloud and patch drizzle at times 🙄these sort of patterns can be hard to shift, I'm not jealous of those in the west at all, gets on the phone to his sister in east Ayrshire fancy a weeks visit from your bro😂

Whilst the nagging wind is a bit on the cool side, both Tuesday and Wednesday were lovely days. Really feeling warm (ish) in the early afternoon with some shelter. Maxes of 13c and 12c.

Ground is drying up well. I sympathise with those in the East who will have had enough of cool cloudy weather if an easterly develops. However for me in the West it should be fairly sunny and pleasant.

Cool breezy dull day with some torrential downpours to our east in the afternoon while we got just a few spits. Currently 9c. No real grass growth so cattle turnout going to be late.

Cracking morning here, bit chilly but no worse than to be expected at the time of year. A beautiful fresh spring morning. Hopefully the first of many.

Getting really down now, no sign of any warmth at all. Wind today was sheer murder. Awful spring.

The morning was disappointing as the showers were fairly potent. The afternoon was lovely however, winds fell lighter and very sunny reaching 12.8c.

Fields are now starting to look really good, plenty grass coming through. I passed a gritter working (Felt weird when the car was still reading 13c and I had the A/C on due to my car being a greenhouse) earlier so anticipating a frost.
