Heavy rain started at about 7, looks like an indoor day. Laptop and lots of coffee.

Wind has got up a bit in last few minutes and rain has got heavier and sleety again. There was a bit wet snow around 8AM but it didn't stick. Currently sleety at 2.5C.

Dreadful day so far though radar hints of a clearance coming in from the SE.

Steady heavy rain/sleet mix blown in on a fresh SE wind - bitterly cold feeling when you are out, current temp 3.5c.

Folk's hoose in Carrbridge.

Bennachie has had it's winter coat back past day or so.

Roll on spring. Please.

First report from my new location and it’s not a happy one😀. Wet, cold and miserable about sums it up. I don’t have my weather station set up yet so no figures to go with that but it was 3c when I left for work and 7c when I got home.

West Lomond had snow and East Lomond didn’t so locally the snow level was just above 400m.

Bit slow on updates, yesterday several wintry showers mostly of fine snow, just 100 foot lower in bottom field just rain. This morning started with a dusting of snow much to the annoyance of the ducks Hansel & Gretel, the ducks in first photo. Snow started again 10ish before quickly turning to sleet then sleety rain before somewhat surprisingly rapidly turning to heavy large flaked snow this afternoon.

Better start to the day with a bit of sun and 3c. Yesterday was very bad with soaking  very cold conditions and dampness everywhere. Fields waterlogged again.

Cool breezy day but with some sunshine not much drying up

Cawdor hills white this morning down to just  under under a 1000feet

Groundhog Week. Starts off grey & damp & miserable, gradually dries up a wee bit with some spells of (warm!) sunshine, but that cold wind just doesn't go away. Got to get started in the garden soon though..

Everything saturated again this evening really getting serious now even  fencer tracking an older grass field today.

Buds on horse  chestnut which were bursting just over a week ago have turned  yellow in the last few days. Nature is beginning to suffer. Currently 6c

A side effect if this long very wet spell is the price of straw is rocketing About a third of winter wheat crops have been drowned or never sown and if spring   sowing  is delayed till end of April yields of grain and straw will be reduced dramatically.

This is starting to get quite trying now. Any sign of a pattern change on the horizon? A few consecutive days of sunshine with minimal cloud would be great. Doesn’t even have to be warm.

Cloudy morning but decent afternoon with some decent sunny spells, max of 12c with light winds.

Ground conditions utterly sodden though, the constant squelch heard when walking over the grass around Castle Fraser was a first for this time of year.  Legacy of yesterdays deluge.

Oh how do I know that feeling. One podiatrist said to me last year, 'your genes haven't done you any favours...' Useless onanist.

We had a long and pretty heavy shower late afternoon that had a couple of rumbles in it, just about audible from here for those tuning in.

Lovely day here today ( before the easterly muck sets in) Around 11C but feeling warmer in the sun. Took a stroll in the woods just NW of the town and spotted two red squirrels. Always nice to see. Not sure at one point if they were playing or fighting when they eneded up on the same tree but they both settled down quickly.

Amazing a difference wel.........23 hours can make 😉 Just strange why when we get to this time of year always feels a lot more summery (OK the breeze is a bit of a nuisance) but it is lovely

Battle between harr and sunshine in St Andrews today, with the former starting to win by mid-afternoon.

Good to see the town hoaching with people, though did feel a bit out of place not having the waxed jacket and range rover....

Car recorded max of 12c, light winds and feeling very pleasant indeed in the sunshine.
