As expected a role reversal day region wide. Today it was our turn to have a fine dry day, a great one for outdoor activities.

little chinese restaurant up the road

That sounds like 'Jins' restaurant, full of beams and old world charm inside, great food too.

Interesting.

Over 9 hours of snow.

I wonder what the settling altitude is.

Edit- I see ECM takes it too far South so Staffordshire/South Derbyshire is the Northern edge.

Up abit Down abit. Where will it settle on. ?

Lovely mate!

Going to be a lot of north a bit, south a bit next week.

To add to your charts....

GFS & ECM.

From about Thursday next week could be the start of a long cold spell when the longer range GFS is also showing this...

Talk of Spring is way way premature.

The mod thread is always a bit skewed to towards a southerly bias mate.

Here is a better view for some of our region.

I've checked the hourly, it actually shows about 5 hours worth of snow before moving away and then we have the next one following in further north. Hell of a lot to play for, lots of chopping & changing to come.

Met app for my postcode ties in with the timing of the charts shown although is still only giving sleet rather than snow but it’s a start, that’s until the usual southerly adjustment happens and we end up just north of anything interesting.

not the best of prospects for today unless drizzle is your thing but equally nothing overly heavy.

Good Morning.  Another damp, dull start and 10.1°C.  Some really interesting weather to watch over the next few days,  I honestly don't mind Spring being put on hold to make way for cold and hopefully everyone sees some snow.  Some lovely charts have been posted already, here's UKVs current outlook.

Much better GFF 0Z. Wednesday night event much better angle now... Would be a big snow event before turn to ice pellets and then rain.
The snow line for Friday and Saturday is further south as well. 18 Z had it north of the border, now it's Around Carlisle. Like to see further southerly corrections on that.

I was hoping that it would leave it until later but the drizzle has arrived.

Overcast but dry here at the moment so a definite improvement on yesterday so far. We'll see how long that lasts.

The sun has just burst through the cloud here and areas of blue sky have appeared, much brighter and has totally transformed the feel of the day.

Snow line perhaps 20 miles further south on 6Z. Still going right direction.
