Met still unsure...

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

A frosty start on Wednesday, then largely dry and bright. An uncertain end to the week but probably unsettled and cold with some rain and snow, perhaps disruptive in places.

I'm not getting interested in Thursdays snow as it will likely be a cold rain or snow to rain event for this low level.

cheshire snow oh I’m not basing that on any knowledge, just being pessimistic to keep my hopes down 😆

Wish it could just say...

It WILL snow on Thursday, 5-10cm's Guaranteed, 10-20cm higher up. Everyone who loves snow in the North West regional thread, get waxing that sledge! 👍

GFS loses the plot again after t72 but crucially comes into line with the ECM beforehand.

Can see the event being rain to several hours of snow and then back to rain.

Kasim Awan Some improvements on the 12z for Thursday’s snow potential.  Do you think the MO’s 2-5cm warning for low levels, 10-20cm for higher ground looks accurate? Gtr MCR/ NE Cheshire snow shield may come into play but less so than normal? A thing to note also is this snowfall is forecast during the early morning rush into the daytime so disruption is more likely from this frontal sleet/ snow than say a Sat night overnight snowfall from snow showers.

I think we might see a wet covering of around 2-3cm  here in S Cheshire if we see the snowfall, it’ll be a messy wintry mix to low levels I suspect. Would love to see more but happy to take any accumulating snowfall really.

Just reading the MOD thread and everyone is on a downer (The South) it seems.

Not a dig but an observation of those posters with the end is neigh comments.

Anyone got a link to UKMO precipitation charts, had a great link once but I've somehow lost it!

Memories of 1996. 12 hours of snowfall, 1ft of level snow, massive drifts and a week off work ,after a 6 hr drive back home from Sellafield ,including the Friday when the rain came and washed it all away. ❄️❄️❄️
