Very interesting from GFS and ECM for tomorrow, could be a dusting in a few areas, possibly to lower levels too.

and yellow warning of rain/snow too from the Meto

A band of rain, heavy at times, is expected to move north and east on Friday. 10 to 15 mm of rainfall is likely widely, with perhaps 30 mm in a few locations. With much of the rain falling in 3 hours some travel disruption is probable. Some snow is also likely to affect some higher routes and communities for a brief time. What should I do? Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary. Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.

The prospect of some significant falls here, and not just on highest ground:

I'm sceptical as it's still on the wrong side of marginal for most, but it's that margin which will make tomorrow's weather-watching worthwhile.

andymusic Sadly I've been burnt too many times over the years to allow myself "good feelings" about snow in this country!

My hunch is that what we'll see tomorrow is rain on the coast, periods of more persistent rain, sleet and wet snow further inland with some slushy deposits here and there, and significant settling only on genuine high ground (above ~250-300m).

Met office updating our regional forecast for tomorrow - and a lot more snow symbols have all of a sudden appeared - looking good I think

Looks like a evaporative cooling event could take place...heavier precipitation will lower snow level. Higher elevations likely to get a dusting.

Snow above 300m this morning, ground too warm for it to settle at our level where is was mainly rain, with a few flakes mixed in.

Around 2-3cm at Moel Famau car park this morning at 8am. Around 5cm half way up the mountain. I suspect the snow line was somewhere around 300-350m.
