Concur with above some very sleety showers strong wind and high windchill. Absolutely perishing but cows managed to trudge through mud to neeps.

Snow building up on hills above 200m all round the Firth so a very wintry looking scene

A brighter day and feeling chillier than of late although we still managed 8c. May get our first air frost since January 18th tonight but possibly not here on the coast unless the wind dies down significantly.

Tomorrow and Thursday look decent before it all descends into easterly dreich on Friday. ☹️

So according to latest charts , the cold spell is now a blip for us down here. Hope to see the snow showers in the morning think that could be it for us. Always next year again 🙄

johncam Heck, we're only in the 1st week of February. Ye of little faith!

We've had a couple of light and brief graupel showers since dark. A sprinkling, not even a dusting.

Just back from swimming lessons and snows on out targets/pitmedden way. Not heavy but it’s snow. Back home in Newburgh it’s cold still and clear sky.

Hairy Celt ano just don't see where the very cold weather we need is coming from for any lasting snow. The days are drawing out rapid now.

Yes there is a moderate to heavy shower here at the moment and it has covered all surfaces in snow. A bit unexpected but nice to see.

At teatime we had an almost straight northerly and I thought smugly, aha, here we go. 3 hours later and it's a westerly. Wtf happened there? Although there's a purple blob that seems to be sliding this way so YA NEVER KNOW!!!!

A big shift north for this low on thursday. The 18z has it further north. Hopefully by tomorrow night it’s hitting Scotland on thursday morning rather than later.

Huntforsnow someone must be on the back shift for the met o, talk about leaving it late. 😂.

The midlands was out about a fortnight ago then took it down. Lol. Only joking but they did put it out from Sunday for thursday  attempt.

scatter cushion. wibbleing chair lemon. My slidey blob is being interfered with by Ben Wyvis. Just bloody typical.

Hawesy Apologies for the late reply. The Seaview was enjoyed by the four of us. I think my motorbike would lat 5+ years longer out east away from Glasgow!

Tonight's warning is not welcome. I'll wake up at 8am to nothing now. Best snowfalls are unexpected.

I lived in California in my younger years between 1980 & 1983. Experienced the El Nino in that time. It pished down. I thought I was back in Motherwell. Never heard of The Pineapple Express hitting Californa now. Will see if I can find some photos from then.

Nice wee covering from overnight showers. Lovely powdery stuff that snaps underfoot.  Local bunnies have been out taking pictures of it too

Same here, a light covering of snow on most surfaces. Late Friday still looking interesting, I'd be highly sceptical but MetO forecast also showing snow around the same time, just without the totals.

A dusting of snow here on cold surfaces from the showers that went through about 5am. Surprised we didn't get more looking at the radar but looks like it was pretty marginal. The road looks a tad slippery!
