  1. It kind of panned out the way I was expecting, its just not like the old days is it lol
  2. any storms will probably miss the populated areas of the NW ,and if they do happen they will happen in the Irish sea and push away north west its always seems to happen like that , indeed there are cells building in west lancs right now which will probably move into the sea and away , oh what a surprise ! not, the odd sferic is possible there
  3. I've just decorated and picked some new curtains for my NSC room , as I will be here for quite some time
  4. I wont be surprised either , just dont get it , because its not like the North West never got storms anyway , we did , through the 70's 80' and 90, and even early 2000's 7 or 8 thunder days would have been an average count for my location , and a couple of those thunder days would be corkers whilst some would just be the odd rumble, but they happened , I am really starting think this silly talk of 'storm shields' is actually true , and one has been set in place in the north West , seriously though something has changed meteorologicaly , it cant be bad luck over and over
  5. Indeed you do, but with thunder storms and North West England you never win some , it always loose, never mind , it all went as I predicted a pat on the back for me BBC said thunderstorms, for this area, I said ..not a chance , because that how it pans out 99 % of the time , its just experience. maybe this should be moved to the NO STORMS CLUB
  6. I am really miffed whats going on in the North west re thunderstorms, last few years apart from the july supecell of 2015 have been almost non existent, last time I heard thunder was last May. its getting on my nerves now , it cant be bad luck so many times , can it ?
  7. pathetic , the North west , its all south and midlands again , bit galling when we were one of the main areas , what is wrong here at all ? give up now
  8. You might, just might get lucky there in Merseyside Chris, still fearing a fail here , been here so many times , it like deja vu
  9. Yes , I totally expect the electrical activity to vanish if the storms ever make it past the M56 toward the NW
  10. The storms are in no hurry to vacate the west midlands , feel like its a bit of a forecast fail here, the BBC graphics this morning had a big blob of green intense thundery rain over this area at 16.00, but its not happened, all staying well south and slowly sliding into Wales. slight hope of seeing distant flashes or hearing distant rumbles to the south west of here a bit later, but I feel its straw clutching time, In the 80 or 90's this would have been game on , the NW has been utterly sh*te for storms over the last few years
  11. Probably from the North Wales storm , doubt anything will come this way
  12. I expect those midlands storms to fade as get towards the storm void that is North West / Greater Manchester, thats if they even attempt tocome this way , looks like they are going into North Wales and Wrexham area, very predictable , Yawn
  13. Totally expecting nothing here , as usuall in the storm starved main part of the north west, no way those storms in the midlands will get up to this part , they will fizzle to drizzle , or just move into north wales , history tends to repeat I am using reverse psychology . but deep down I know no thunderstorm for here, my only way is to drive down the M6 now , and intercept , but thats not possible atm
  14. Any chance of thunder in NW this week , I am so thunderstorm starved its making me depressed, a good storm is like a dose of prozac, Probability of storms in Wigan 0.0000 %
  15. I would love this weather to stick around until late september, broken by good thunderstorms every few days then back to sun and warmth , then rinse and repeat , of course it wont , we are not a continental climate
  16. its amazing how a couple of very warm days can skew the CET , its felt decidedly chilly here for most of April, and a few days downright cold, going off the feel of the month I would have put it notably below normal, though there hasn't really been any air frosts
  17. Not sure if its just been down to bad luck but there has been an astonishing absence of thunder here the last 12 months , never known it as poor, and I am in my 40's last thunder I heard was in May 2017, incredible, normally we would see at least several thundery showers /storms, over the course of 12 months well we did in the nineties, yet other areas are seeing their usual quotas , somethings up here, but it doesn't make sense , it must be bad luck , very bad luck
  18. Yes the mundane rain will have no problem , but thunderstorms you can forget, if its drab featureless stratus and drizzle/rain with meh temps the NW must be utopia if you like that kind of thing
  19. North west storm drought goes on , despite storms in Cumbria last night , the main area of the NW was,as usual ,huge repellent to storm activity, even when everything looks right for them , they dont happen here , so I have stopped even bothering expecting them anymore We had thunderstorms in North wales, thunderstorms in the lake district, thunderstorms in Yorkshire , a few sporadic ones in the midlands , widespread over southern England , but sweet FA in the North West, even the Shetlands had a bit if you look at Blitzorg goddammit when I seestorms develop in North wales they always move into the Irish sea and avoid the North West , its becoming predictable, I had a feeling that would be the case last night , and so it was
  20. unusual not to get at least a weak thundery shower by this stage , we had one solitary rumble in january. before that last thunder heard was sometime in the summer of 2017 I think, very very poor
  21. Sick of monotonous mucky grey leaden featureless cloudy skies , err just let me look out of the window, yes can confirm the same again today
  22. Thats not the point, the 20c will come soon, only weeks away if that , then the high twenties are possible, as it does most years , its showing mild , mild and more mild , we are now going into the warm half of the year, yes there could still be chilly days ahead , possibly high single digits days as its still only April but that will become less and less likely , mid teens and high teens look the form horse now , and not before time , the green shoots and blossoms of spring are ready to burst through
  23. Only problem with warm rain, the slugs are back already argggggg ! , cant believe I found one on my kitchen floor tiles today, its never happened before , the patio doors where shut , I think it sneaked up the plug hole from the waste pipe , the stuff of nightmares ...or less likely the tiny gap where the pipe exits I am mortified , full bottle of bleach down the plug hole and the rubber plug stays in too ! , just in case, tiny gap will get sealed tomorrow, and a few pellets sprinkled
  24. BBC has been dumbing down a while now , its just like the Daily Mail
