  1. Shame I'm not at home in Kent to witness the Xmas scenes, but at work in Lewisham where it's looking positively possible "no hoar frost here" lol Tropical even! Please edit! Can't do so on my phone
  2. How come no-one is talking about the snow potential for Thursday, BBC had snow for a time over a wide area of the south east including London area eventually turning to rain, what are people's thoughts on this?
  3. You would have thought at this day in age a 36hour run i.e the UKMO precipitation charts should be pretty accurate- and if that's the case then shouldn't we in Kent (and other areas close by) be expecting a light sprinkle of the white stuff lookin at runs posted above?
  4. Always remember these north to northeasterlys pasting east and central Kent in snow but us in nw Kent missin out as the showers die out over east anglia before they even reach us- hope this doesn't happen again else I'm spending a couple of days bunkin off work down my mum's house in heart of Kent! Really hope the models change and we get a more east to north east setting up Thames streamer etc. . .
  5. Edit! Now I've just noticed a few flakes Amongst the rain:-)
  6. Strange- here in Dartford still just rain, must be the "village effect" lol
  7. Strange, my friend in west Dartford saying it stopped ten mins ago but here in east of town it's still going albeit lightly
  8. Beautiful scene in Dartford now just like magic it's trying to settle on roof and trees at east
  9. Light rain in Dartford from what I can see-hopefully it turns to snow like others said further north but fear it won't settle in our warm part of the world, probably will on the downs though
  10. Brilliant:-) hope it settles if not a Thames streamer next week would go down nicely to make up for it!;-)
  11. i wouldn't call this light snow more moderate in Dartford finally. its starting to settle on roof tops i so was not expectin this nice surprise! keep going snow!!
  12. im on a late shift in new cross gate 5mins of lamp post watching has resulted in me seeing 5snow flakes sweet dreaming lol
  13. BBC weather made me laugh there was a Smidge of snow on the graphics covering my location and a bit of Thurrock for the most part of tomorrow lyk the way he said increasing snow risk for the end of the week too
  14. Very true waited years for the Feb 09' event maybe i shouldnt be greedy as i was telling my little bro when i was a teen we never had any decent snowfalls here i always drove up to my mums in Medway or down to sevenoaks just to get the sledge out!
  15. Around 4" in Dartford, Kent so a nice amount to take the teenage brother out in my new sledge fully equipped with brakes- thaw is increasing. fingers crossed for an ENE wind Thames streamer in the coming days as were in a prime location for those
  16. What part of dartford are you? im by east hill not measured but looks about 3.5inches to me roll on the Thames streamers!
  17. To Andy-leic when you say the whole of Kent tonight does that include dartford?havent looked at the model closely
  18. had continuous light snow grains settling in patches throughout the morning here in Dartford, Kent- first snow have seen all winter& far better than wet mild rubbish
  19. Hopefully more than the 2inches max I 've seen so far this winter (was in scotland mid december!) so missed the highest snowfall amount of the winter here& and down yours& my mums way medway!! Tell you what though mate you, can go from strood or chatham for instance to areas in Medway such as Lordswood, where my best mate lives and you can go from no snow or a tiny dusting to 8inches of unforecast snow in these more rural areas- its happened to me a few times over the years a lovely surprise, and lets hope these charts remain the same go ENE GO!!!!- thats also what the majority of the thames estuary folk that have been so snow starved this winter/dare i say early spring will be hoping for north and south of the river!
  20. Misunderstanding matey I should have been more clear!- I meant the jackpot area is s&se of Dartford along the rural parts of the north downs to be specific
  21. It does amaze me how rural some of London travel zone 4-5 is in your part of the world yet my part of kent is much more urban and not even in zone 6! and like you said height is the key because just a couple miles south/south east of here and your in the jackpot zone especially for north easterlies unfortunately we have to rely on whatever comes from south essex usually to give us a decent amount of the white stuff lol!! ENE is great but NE is only good for chatham eastwards in Kent! and west/south west Kent also benefits from this!
  22. major snowstorm in surrey and east kent and nw london but not nw kent I bet loL!!
  23. NW London does seem to do well with the snow I found that out even in previous winters when I was at uni in Herts, a small dumping in barnet, yet slush or rain back home in se ldn/nw kent!, think because your away from the thames warming influence and its more rural up there lucky people!! Wish I could answer your question mate! I noticed its getting rather dark outside too, yet I thought the sun was supposed to be braking through?
