    I was just letting the dog out to do his "business" and I noticed this halo effect around the sun within the clouds passing by it, my camera couldn't capture it properly so I edited contrast etc in photoshop and this is kinda how it looked to me! it certainly caught my attention.

    this event has completely missed East Kent we still have plenty from the snowfall last weekend but it;s a shame we're not getting a top up tonight bar a few flurries.

    It's a beautiful day here, bright sunshine and it feels quite warm, it's definitely warm enough to do some work outside. I am betting this is mother nature rasping us before she throws us into the freezer for a while, but we will see!

    I don't believe it but I just looked out of the window here in East Kent and it is snowing even here at 34m asl. it's fairly wet stuff though and not settling due to the ground being wet.

    ^^ It seems to be well up on last year also, the only places really lacking are the Alps and Scandinavia but that picture is improving at least in Scandinavia's case.

    Russia is now pretty much in excess of 99% covered, but not quite 100%

    Scandinavia seems to be doing a little better now, but still a way to go. Masses of snow everywhere except for around the Atlantic areas. I hope this changes soon and the HP in Europe goes to bother someone else.

    I like snow, but I think I've had enough of the cold already and proper cold isn't here yet. It's 8c this morning, 14c inside the house and my legs are aching! The thing is I don't do too well when it is hot either, so can't win, but it's enough to make me want to move somewhere warmer and I'm only 19 lol

    We used ours for a little while the past couple of evenings, we would have used it for a few evenings before that too but it stopped working. repair man come and it turned out to be the thermostat... ... Nobody told us it took batteries!

    A dull and cloudy day here and feeling quite chilly, High of 6°C, Currently 5°C. We were forecast 11°C today but it didn't get near.

    Latest image for October 30th showing the full extent of the snow cover from the storm. A friend of mine in Manchester, NH says she has pics but cannot upload them yet because the power is out, she had to use an internet inverter (verizon thing) in her jeep/ (they use it on the road or camping for internet) to let us know.

    I've been watching the Times Square cam and there's been a couple of rumbles of thunder in the past 20 minutes. Awesome!

    This is crazy even for New Yorkers. crazy weather in the US in recent days with snow even in the Texas panhandle.
