  1. Would like it that little bit further south and east for me. As nick says that is the key area to get proper old school conditions. Its ok but not dizzy heights stuff.
  2. Wrong way round GFS are playing catch up with The ECM, UKMO, GEM,
  3. A quick question please Steve. What chances would you rate the Ecm coming true i see your Joe 'B Signature and wonder what you are expecting to happen?
  4. I think your getting a bit nervous there mate and so are we all we are on the money for a January to remember severe cold right up too the second week off jan at least and the lot its a cracking chart and it is not fi and it has a lot off support.
  5. I agree and possibly a Thames streamer also Se Areas in a favourable set up here wind direction very very good. People who are after cold and snowy weather moaning over the current output should not be here in my opinion just for one minute use your brains and think NO COLD = NO SNOW [ COLD = Possible Snow down the line im off gotta pop down b&q get me self a shovel
  6. Steve tried sending you a pm but it says your in box is full just a quick one regarding your joe b quote do you agree with him with that statement?
  7. Yes I agree but i did not mention every day blizzards there mate. At the end off the day i am a bit off a non starter when viewing models know a bit but not a lot. And i am sure i speak for those as well who is on the same boat when we see very respected forecasters and members posting the evolution that we are discussing now regarding very cold weather with blizzards it makes us sit up and take note and maybe learn a bit more on the way. But equally when another well respected poster such as yourself disagrees or puts it in a different perspective then i/we really do struggle lol. Anyway sorry for rambling on and happy new year to all
  8. So for the record you are not buying the likes off Blasts and Joe B's forecast i must admit i am pretty surprised really the fact is atm i do agree with Blasts and Joe b's Forecasts not just because i love cold and snow but simply because over the past year they have both never been far off the mark in terms off down the line projections. Appreciate your response TEITS
  9. So where is the likes off Blast and Other respected forecasters getting this very severe cold spell from? I quote from Blast who i very much respect his forecasts saying. A severe cold and very wintry spell off weather from new years onwards too last for around three weeks come from this is really confusing the hell out off me. He did also mention blizzards
  10. Yes Gregg that is what i can see very much so happening and to be honest i am not too biased towards my location so i wish a lot off good will and luck to our welsh and Midlands friends and hope they get a great snow event. As for us down south the euro models have been going for some time now that we could well be in for a very very severe cold spell and as Fred has stated he expects this from new years eve onwards and i expect the evolution to come true off course a severe easterly will put us right in the firing line expect upgrades too come thats what i have been told.
  11. I think those further north from us and east should be rather happy with what they have already received and not moan about it. I for example am only 5 miles from Croydon and they got hammered the other day inches off snow. For me i had a brief 30 mins light snow which next day was all gone been very unlucky up until today and we had 40 mins off heavy snow which left 3cms. While others has had lots more esp those in Cambridge kent ect so why moan its not often we see snow just before Christmas let alone just after. Have a very merry Christmas all see you in the knew year i am off to Moscow in the morning.
  12. Thunder snow whoop raynes park surrey 3cms so far and still chucking it down whooooppp
  13. Severe blizzards here already 2cms in around 30mins after the rain earlier its already settled and we now have more than the other day here
  14. Evening All I think what some are tending to forget is that this is very likely to be a severe and very lengthy cold spell. I just spoke with Fred = BFTP and he said two to three weeks which is brilliant from Wednesday or Thursday onwards which i fully agree on some on here just keep banging on about this week and i agree good potential here. But what people should not forget is that it is only the beginning this spell off extreme cold could well last up to and beyond Christmas folks so there would be ample time and opportunity to see snow just be a bit patient guys. This is a once in 20 year event and i for one am just sitting back and chilling waiting for the snow to arrive and when it does it will get worse from then on in. MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL
  15. Any chance the sw off London may get some snow we usually do pretty darn well in these types off scenario. Especially when a Thames streamer sets up p.s does anyone have a link for the 18:25 forecast or will it repeat at 18:55 over on bbc 24?
  16. Hi TS hope your well. I think a poster mentioned this earlier on re the deep low out to the south west and said that this is just the ECM way flipping about with different scenarios which i agreed with. I think we have to look at the more detailed picture i,e trends within the realms off the reliable time frame and the trend is biting cold and by the looks off things could easily stick with us to Christmas and beyond which atm i would say is 50-50 but with more major factors in our favour. The odds for a bitter cold spell for me is nailed on for at least 10-12 days great great stuff and long may it continue Edit damm Chisspell beat me too it. Just to add i also had another conversation about a hour and a half ago with inside info and he says nothings changed its going to be a severe one guys.
  17. John can i say on behalf off us newbies on here and probably those who was just about too prepare a looped rope over their necks THANKYOU SIR. I be honest i am sitting here stunned by your latest update and jumping for joy AT LEAST A TEN DAY BITTER COLD SPELL now how often in December have we been told that with a very good chance off it coming off? I think i am going to have a celebratory beer and book late next week off from work. Cheers John
  18. I posted last night with my thoughts from inside info from a good friend and exactly what he said so far has come true. I am not to sure as off why a few was slating the ECM this morning and favouring the GFS. The ECM sorted the flip episode 3 days ago and has remained constant ever since while the GFS up until three days ago was consistent they both swapped places by the looks off things i did get information passed on to me saying the GFS will come in line by possibly tonight's pub run if not tomorrow and looking at the two GFS runs today they seem to be edging closer and closer with the ECM. Plenty to be ecstatic over i know i am.
  19. Just to add i am extremely happy and encouraged by the meto forecast and here is my reason. I have a friend who works for the met office and i also work on the trains and the met usually send faxes over to us if they believe any severe weather is on the way. I mentioned the other day on here that i was doing the early shift Thursday and about 11am we received a fax from the met office about a very high chance that severe cold was on the way they stated the cold spell would more than likely begin the Friday just gone and they did say in the latter part off next week it will get even more colder and with that brings the increasing risk off snowfall. They said we would advise you to notice off this fax and make sure you are well equipped to deal with adverse weather conditions i,e salt and kill frost. Now the other pleasing aspect is my friend who works for the met said to me last winter before the February snow occurred that the met will always play the situation down to the public as long as possible different with public sector jobs like the rail but the met forecast that was released today said wintry showers over and over again and talked about it getting colder as the week progressed now to me they know that something severe is on the cards. I am going to get on the blower to me mate and ask him what is being hyped up down there and will get back to you all either in around a hour or tomorrow. Very cold times ahead by the looks though
  20. Hi Tamara Would i be right in assuming that the potential deep cold outbreak will commence wed/thurs and could last at least until the day before Christmas day at the earliest? If so than i am sorry because i said last night that i could not see this potential cold after Thursday lasting a few days. And i would add to this if it does last up until Christmas then i don't know what i am everyone is worried about regarding snow there would be ample time. I may have the wrong end off the stick??
  21. See this is probably why a lot of us on here who are very keen watchers but does not understand various models get so confused i read a few posts from experienced posters a few pages back saying cold is coming don't panic and everything is going well. Now i see another experienced poster saying it looks like its going to be a near miss. What the heck is going on?
  22. Thanks LS right i am off goodnight all. My personal view is that this cold spell from Thursday onwards will only last 3-4 days and it will probably be a northern event so nothing gets me going yet i actually would wager that the snow we may have down here would be knowhere near as bad as it was in February. I think a dusting at best still will be cold though but i prefer snow. Night all
  23. Maybe somebody can give me their views to this post?
  24. Hi just watched the forecast and rob said either a north easterly or northerly will kick in later on next week. Now in my view that would put our Scottish friends in the prime position to see the white stuff where us southerners get the scattered remains am i right or wrong? A north easterly would do me just fine thanks.
