    No thaw at all here. A little snow fell off the trees when the sun was shining on them earlier but now its cold and dull and nothing is moving. Roads still snowy, trees still covered, nothing falling off cars. Its great.

    Pic taken a hour ago. 15cm level and 7cm on part of car that i cleared. Still coming down.

    Wow. Just been for a stroll and the roads and pavements which were gritted this morning are now covered again. Really coming down hard in the last 10 mins. 10cm and counting here.

    Really heavy snow falling now. Big flakes falling. Really piling up now. All earlier footprints now filled in.

    Quite heavy small flakes here. 5cm deep. Am I in my own little micro climate here as other forumers from Sheffield are postin about when and how much snow when its very snowy already outside. Id say there will be 10 - 15cm by the time it dies out tonight.

    Have you seen some of the pics floating around. 6'' in Beverley. 9'' near london. Think thats why there are warnings around. In the higher suburbs the snow is piling up, certainly not melting. Here are a few pics taken at 1pm, massive flakes falling.

    Dunno why. Herer in Dore its been constantly snowing since about 8 this morning, moderatle but sometimes lightly with some heavy bursts. A good 4cm here.

    Had some persistsant snow around 2am this morning then persistant moderate to heavy snow showers this morning which contained 50p flakes.

    Poor effort here so far in Sheffield. Very cold at -2.1 and what snow has fallen is either frozen to surfaces or blowing around on very frozen ground. This fell late afternoon. The Sheffield snow shield in full effect this evening.

    Had a few wintry showers during this afternoon, mainly sleet and grauple. Very surprised at how cold it has got throughout the day.

    Driving down the A1 to Sheffield, we had to actually leave the road and stop at Scotch corner for half an hour due to the most intense rainfall I have seen for a while. The road markings dissapeared in the immense rainfall and the wipers couldnt go fast enough, even at 30mph. Loads of other motorist sat it out too in the carpark. At least 4 very close lightning flashes and 3'' of standing water at the services.

    An hour and a half of moderate sleet then snow with huge flakes gave a very thin slushy deposit on my car windscreen this morning. Loads of showers now moving south :o

    Moderate snow shower currently falling. Surprised it made it here as most seem to be going through cheshire gap. 1cm currently

    A few heavy soft hail showers around mid day then 20 mins of moderate horizontal snow left a smattering just after 3pm. A few flakes currently falling.

    This mornings band of rain had a five minute snow/hail squall line on its back edge then from midday its been light to moderate hail and snow showers moving through with one brief dusting. Very cold and windy 2oc.

    Moderate sleet been falling since lunchtime here with temp of 2oc. Just had a drive upto ringinglow at 330m asl where wet snow was falling and giving slushy deposits on the cars.

    Wet snow followed very heavy rain this evening. Nothing is lying here but the temp dropped 6oc in about half an hour as reported elsewhere.

    temp at 8.3oc at the moment. Very heavy showers just passed through here. Massive puddles and roads are a wash.
