    Same here. Heavy rain now turned to very heavy snow and is starting to stick/ Looks like it will move away west though soon. :wacko:

    Ice pellets and small snow flakes here in south sheffield, just started. I notice that the band of weather has decayed as its hit us, YET AGAIN!

    Light to moderate small snow flakes falling. Very slowly getting heavier since it started at 9am. It has settled on all but the road surfaces here. The band of snow is moving very, very slowly east and we are still on the edge of it.

    Started this morning with the finest/smallest snow grains. They were hardly big enough for gravity to pull them downwards. This gave way to light snow/graupel showers with some moderate showers falling but at no time did it settle.

    Fairly light to moderate showery snow this morning from around 8.30 to 11.00. It didnt really settle and there after it was sunny all the way.

    Had a few flurries of large flakes around 23.00. Much more cloudy now than earlier.

    Wow! Just had some very heavy snow here. Started and stopped very quickly but was here for around 70 mins in total. I have to pull the car over as I couldnt put the wipers on fast enough. I kept an eye on tha radar all day though the weather forcast was miles wrong. Why dont they just look at the radar? About 2cm here though on the higher suburbs its about 4cm.

    Had a few light snow flurries through the day from partly cloudy skies. Mainly from lunchtime onwards. Frost hasn't melted today.

    Sleety rain showers now falling plus had a few earlier. These fell as snow as we went upto see the snow on the snake pass between sheffield and Manchester.

    Snowing out of thick fog. Very wierd. Been sleeting/snowing all night but not really settled here. High ground though has loads.

    Very heavy sleet falling here. You can make out some ice in it as it hits the car wind screen.

    Woke up to snow this morning but it was soon rectricted to the higher ground where it snowed moderatly till round 11am but the lying snow thawed. After that we had heavy sleet then heavy rain till recently when it stopped.

    Woke up to a little slushy covering this morning (100m asl) though at work (300m asl) there was a better covering. Over the hills surrounding Sheffield there was a good covering and on my way home this evening, the hills were still white. We had persistant and moderate snow falling from 8am till around 10.30 am plus flurries through the afternoon. This didnt really settle though and slowly thawed. Top temps around 2oc. Pics from at work this morning.

    Well up at Ecclesall and in the city center there were snow gains falling for most of the morning, more so than yesterday. They were long and thin, like vermichelli shape (if you know what i mean) Pic is of grains on the windscreen.

    Same here, snow grains on and off from late morning. Top tempertature has been around -0.9oc today. really wierd as there is ice where puddles have formed but no frost at all. The air must be very dry.

    Drizzle all day that turned to snow grains in the heavier bursts. Had proper snow for 10 mins around lunch time that settled briefly. Temp at 2.1oc

    Drizzly rain with large graupel mixed in. Temp now 1oc but earlier at 3oc it was steady snow grains.

    As with everyone else, snow grains falling for most of the morning, and again from mid afternoon. Sun came out with lovely blue skies for an hour early afternoon.

    Raining here which is rapidly melting the lying snow. Started as sleety snow but added no new accumilations, just slush drifting up the walls. Soon turned to sleet then rain. Higher parts round here seem to have more snow though. rain at 0.8oc?

    Same here, 5 miles north east of you.

    Light to moderate snow been falling for half an hour. Seems to die out as it works west from Sheffield. About 2cm here. Not much added overnight. Light winds so any showers falling seem to last.

    A few flurries currently but loads heading our way on the radar.

    Sheffield is starting to take a battering. Higher suburbs, which there are alot of, have a good few inches and even at 100m asl where i am, we have a good inch.
