  1. He will probably still be sitting on the fence or not show any graphics claiming a technical issue
  2. I think the posty is going to have a few hurdles to get over delivering them to us this weekend
  3. just posting the rainbow from earlier - you can clearly see the two bands that ended up forming - and why we have this progressive band this evening ahead of the main train - it certainly is going to be pulling up to the bumper !
  4. The first band can be seen across the bottom of the Irish Coast / Off the Southern England Coast it is absolutely YUMMY ! Even at this stage my heart tell me much higher accumulations than the models (my head says stick to model accumulation totals for now) But I think Big Steve M may be agreeing with me
  5. Paul i think you should get ready to Pony up with our winnings (yes its USA terminology but I'm trying to broaden our horizons away from the obvious...)
  6. We don't have to wait furlong till the 12z's Paul : Do I get the odds at the time I placed my vote or is this a pool
  7. Further East / same for me Paul (after looking very amateurishly at the latest satellite images)
  8. Yeah Coast not the best of charts to allay members fears - oh well your the mod so you have to deal with the fall out
  9. I'm going into hibernation mode now - burrowing down and conserving my energy until the first snowflake falls tomorrow ... At which point I shall get snow madness !!!!!!! Lucky I have cleared the weekend ps . Anyone worrying they won't get snow or it will turn to rain - Don't - not going to happen.
  10. I dont think Im looking at the right chart ? Any offers
  11. Yes that is certainly another sensible option - I can work from home if required so I was only talking from my own position
  12. Hi Everyone My concern is Friday in London (and then Monday if there is no slushfest) If snow is heavy on friday afternoon then there is every chance that the train network will break down and people will be stuck in the city not able to get home - that equals real chaos (as has happened before). Similarly if there is no slushfest it is unlikely trains will work on Monday as many track points will still be frozen / snowed over... If there is an upgrade to amber for friday for London then I certainly will not be going to work as a precaution - I appreciate many people do not have that luxury but it is something to keep in mind as we get closer to the time. "The public should be aware of the risk of significant travel disruption affecting the west in the morning and the east in the afternoon. This warning is likely to be updated over the next couple of days."
  13. To butt in : I think the Met is going with the form horse until proven otherwise - sensible at this point in time being still +72 away
  14. I go into Waterloo and my track is the one closest to the event - only saw the aftermath (after fires etc out) but it must of being really shocking at the time - my thoughts are with everyone involved and our emergency services. One of the burnt out cars was literally only a few meters from the track.
  15. Yes its better but they have updated graphics to show even more rain / sleet for coastal areas come Sunday than previous... I'm sure it will all change but just looking out for our coastal friends It makes sense for Met to be cautious as the track of the low and any warm air mixing in is certainly still up for debate come the later part of the weekend
  16. I am waiting for the met to remove "but turning to rain from sunday" from their 3-5 day outlook. I am expecting that to happen by tonight - If not I will be concerned, not over the snow fest - but over whether we hold on to it
  17. Oii you lot go to bed already ! Save your strength for the weekend (non applicable to those actually working of course...)
  18. Too late have already informed my work colleagues to keep an eye on Friday - and hopefully work from home (ie. dont get caught in the City on Friday night)
