The latest output has moved everything about 50 miles west. It could well move again. The warnings are not going to go. Come on guys, great output and your being negative from IMBY position. -

I think nearer the time we will see some red warnings, if only to keep people of the roads.- 746 replies

The latest out put from the GFS and UKMO has surprised me, in that the morning runs have had everything further East and then as the next runs come out everything gets moved a bit more west. The latest has the system moving a little further south and going along the chanel. The efect of this is that more in the west keep the cold uppers and more would get snow than rain. It also looks more encouraging for the SE due to the strong Easterly. This then leaves the door open for the cold to flood back from the NE. I know it will prob change but for the UK this has even more joining in the fun. I await the more knowledgeable to correct me but thats my reading of the latest output. Finally, many are going to love the charts for Monday aswell. -

Meto changes the forecast for Bournemouth every time they update. Latest 12.58 Sleet then rain. an hour ago it was sleet then snow. Thinking a trip up North will be needed, some where like verwood!!!!!!!! Why? In Bournemouth we may have reason to say this but where you are is looking good. -

If things keep on track, then nearer the time, red warnings will be issued. Red is to take action and its two days away. Still not going to wait for red warning, going to get more beer this afternoon. Either to drown sorrows or to celebrate. Used to live in Stow on the wold in the cotswolds. I think they will get hammered. Drifting is not being talked about much at the moment but this could be the biggest problem as the snow comes of fields and fills in roads. -

No wonder people are confused. These latest charts should have this place buzzing. I guess most are in bed or looking out the window at snow. -

UKMO is very interesting in the short term but for me ECM is great. Look at the cold flooding in from the NE towards us. Way out in time but would love to see this trend continue. ECM has been hinting at this recently. -

Agree with you and would add at T192 look at the PV. Are we starting to see the SSW be modeled correctly and the effects on the PV. This could open up for an attack from the NE as GP has suggested for awhile. -

Why do people feel the need to position themselves in one camp or the other? When forecasting or reviewing the output, it is OK to say, to much uncertanty to have a clear view at this time. If the professionals do it then why can't some amatures. -

As the long term is very unclear it maybe worth concentrating on the short term. All 3 from T48 to T132 ish have some cold air over us. I would say short term is of much interest to many. With oppotunities for something wintry in many parts.
