  1. I didnt drive, opted to take the train instead. Only one stop so wasnt to bad. Is it me saint or does it look like a very slow thaw is going on out there?
  2. Yes your right. Herts could see another 3-5cms from that. Cant believe how much we have had..... I work in St albans 'saint' and it does look beautiful. Didnt that snow just look beautiful falling this morning? Look forward to it started around 2/3pm again
  3. From various sources: BIG UPGRADE FOR HERTFORDSHIRE, BEDFORDSHIRE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
  4. Hi TEITS. I agree. Although I cant see the heavier stuff reaching Northants
  5. This is my take on things guys. This Area IMO is where the snowfall could be immense. Comments welcome
  6. Does this mean Nick that NW London /South west Herts border has an increased chance than earlier. Thanks
  7. I really do not understand the panic. Its all a nowcast situation. Take the Feb 09 snowfall for instance: There was a 'TAKE ACTION' warning for Essex London areas to the south of London and into Berkshire. The BBC weather graphics had snow all over this region with HERTFORDSHIRE and home counties only showing a snowflake or two. I thought to myself on that Sunday evening... ''DAMN IT''... Im just going to miss this. Guess what? I woke to 7 inches of snow. Its all about nowcasting. To be frank PPN will show up just about anywhere. Although I have to say... Hampshire looks like being under a foot of snow come tomorrow PM. Something the residents down there are not use to. I just hope they are prepared
  8. Kold. Thanks for the reply earlier. One other thing. Is there a chance the 12z could have things further east?
  9. Hertfordshie council have been told to expect 20-25cm of snow later tonight into tomorrow. With further snowfall all day tomorrow. Just announced on local radio - Mercury. I thought Herts was to west? Have things changed
  10. don't get me wrong I think it will snow but nothing like the snowstorm central southern England will receive
  11. Since when has anyone listened to the Channel 4 weather report ha ha...... Seems members are clutching at straws
  12. There is a very strong SE windflow tied in with this system! Therefore it will make things difficult to push east, if there was no windflow the system would of made a bullseye for our region!
  13. it will not according to all BBC national and my local forecast
  14. IMO there is no way that low could hoi us! There is to much of a SE windflow tied in with the system - if anything it will go further west! I hope I'm wrong!
  15. BBC London only going for a light dusting! Most of the ppn stays out west! She did say Dorset look set to get a significant amount of snow tomorrow! Rest of week looks mainly dry with a few flurries! Kent stayed dry the whole forecast! That's it.... I'm off to the gym to attack a punch bag!
  16. What bad luck! Unreal the ppn literally covers everywhere apart from home counties and SE! Who would have thought this morning that central southern England creeping into the SW would get buried by snow tomorrow night
  17. Oh dear! What a awful forecast for EA/SE on BBC 18:27 evening forecast! PPN pretty much misses us tomorrow and all heads in central southern England even the first band! Going on that forecast central southern England in for a very snowy evening and night tomorrow! I really thought the SE would do well... Oh well hopefully get some heavy snow showers later Wednesday
  18. I think we can safely say it will fall as snow. If you get rain than that is incredibly unlucky. This could be the week for you....
  19. You have a great chance of seeing some kind of snow. I would say 95% of seeing snow falling. Whether its 1cm - 30cm its still up in the air. Its all about NOWCASTING/ RADAR WATCHING.
  20. This is definately a nowcast situation. The UKMO has the heavier stuff across EA. East Midlands and SE. This is such exciting stuff. Ive waited for charts like this since model watching.....wow wow wow Im dreading the 18z though. If it goes T*ts up I can imagine toys out of pram. Complaining that the 18z shows 4 inches instead of 8 inches....haha
  21. The GFS 12Z PPN gives potentially a foot of Snow for the Isle of Wight. I think we need to tread carefully. I cant see this happening to be honest unless there is support from the UKMO then I will start to pay attention. Amazing run so far for everyone from the Wash southwards.
  22. Whoaaa. FANTASTIC Looks great for the home counties to. Even London could get a covering
  23. The fantastic weather forecast with Tomasz yesterday was quite honestly the best I have ever seen. Im 26 years old. BUT i watched this with pure caution, I was excited yet I kept my feet firmly on the ground. As much as I would love to see the projected Fridays SNOW event happen I knew in my heart of hearts that the Snowy map from the BBC was never going to materialise. This is just purely my own opinion, I think the Snow will pull away South East leaving the SE with mostly sunny and occasional snow showers through the weekend. However Tuesday looks good to leave at least an inch of snow here, The we have Wednesday and Thursday which to be fair, pretty much anything can happen. The north sea is a snow machine and the showers I imagine will push well inland.
  24. Please please please tread carefully everyone!! The main Snow event is now predicted for the weekend, that's a hell of a long way away in weather terms! Amazing countryfile forecast - Band of sleet and snow crossing the country Monday night across the north then spreading further south Tuesday. Heavy snow showers setting in Wednesday pushing further west Thursday! Lets stop there..... ;-)
